As a demoness, Mara gets rather lonely without any friends or companionship. But she remembered how good it felt to briefly possess Megumi's body, and wanted to feel connected to her again... so this time, she eats her up and uses her magic to keep Megumi alive and safe inside of her belly, forever. Megumi seems reluctant, but that's okay. She has an eternity to warm up to Mara.
