Every Saturday the little village that we lived in had a sort of Home Owners meeting, where at least two members (if possible) from each house had to attend. In return, rent was lowered and the whole neighborhood was made more aware of what their neighbors were dealing with in regards to concerns and issues. On the other hand, missing enough meetings made your rent very high and you were out of the loop for new possible taxes or issues. I knew it would be different when I heard the knock on the door. My little Kanga answered the door and immediately called me over,
"Mommy! Mrs. Nidoqueen needs you! Oh hi Nidoran!" Kanga said, immediately getting distracted by Nidoqueen's daughter.
"Heyya Kangaskhan..." Nidoqueen said with a raspy voice equal to that of a Heatmor with a cold.
"Goodness, Nido, you look terribly sick!"
"That's... *sniff*... what I need to talk to you about." In her arms was a box. I helped her with it and placed it on the living room table. It was a little heavy, but not enough to weigh down a sick Nidoqueen. She opened up the box and I didn't quite know what I thought I saw. Was that Nidoqueen and Nidoran inside the box?
"What..." I didn't know what to say.
"It's something that I've been working on in my spare time for a moment such as *ACHOOO!*... this..." She pulled it out of the box and put it on the front of my body like a piece of clothing (Which only some high-end Pokemon used these days). "Perfect fit!"
"What is it though?" I asked in a full sentence this time.
"Why, it's a bodysuit of me! Listen, the meeting is today, and neither Nidoran or I are in any condition to spend three hours talking to other Pokemon about the most recent taxes and *sniff* stuff like that... I only just got her temperature down..."
"You need me to go as you." I summarized.
"Please? You've never missed a day, so they'll just probably slap your wrist and say not to do it again! We can't afford the extra payments while Nidoking is away on his business trips!"
I took one long look at her and knew that I had to help her. She's gotten me out of quite a few predicaments myself, and she's not even using that to blackmail me or anything. She was just asking out of the sincerity of her heart. I couldn't refuse.
"Fine, I'll help you out, Nido." I said. She would have jumped for joy had she not just gotten a sudden headache.
"Th-thank you, Kangaskhan... I really appreciate it. I'll... ngh... take Nidoran home and get us some rest. The suit should adjust everything from your two-inch height over me and your voice. Please just... ngh... keep me up to date with what that old Xatu puts into effect. when we see each other again. Thank you." She held her claws up to her head as she grabbed Nidoran's arm gently and walked back home.
"Kanga, come here!" I said. She came bounding over.
"Yes, mommy?"
"Put this suit on. We're going to help out Mrs. Nidoqueen's family today."
