It had sensed them arrive on those hugd noisy contraptions humans used. It had no ears like other creatures but it sensed the vibrations of its approach.
  The mighty predator opened its scaly eyes. Once it had been a captive of humans a pet you might say. Humans had hatched it from an egg, kept it fed and cared for it, treated it with kindness a serpent shouldn't have known about. The humans had cared for it until it grew to large and cubersome to be kept as a pet any longer.
          It was for this reasaon the serpent held no bitterness or hatred towards humans in fact it loved humans they made for an excellent repast. Its former human owners had left it on this atoll many years ago one of the daughters if the family had came back to this island to re-capture and send the serpernt to a zoo.. she was never seen or heard from again.
       Only the serpent knew of her fate and current location her remains littered by its 'waste' tree along with many other of its victims. This atoll served as fueling and resting station for many boat captains and seaman. Many of whom were victims of the serpents hunger, or the hunger of the other preds in these waters.
