The CVRC wouldn't last long at all by literally slapping (what preds consider) food out of their mouths. So they often utilize the unwritten "first come first serve" rule to their advantage, by having the smaller (human sized) rangers stealthily collect victims and get them to the acting giant/officer for a preferably stealthy withdrawl.

But sometimes the giant/officer is discovered, she then stakes her claim on the smaller humanoids, forcing the predator subject to decide whether they are willing to waste energy and risk injury in a fight for "extra" prey as the CVRC won't attempt to rescue prey that is already caught. Its unfortunate but they won't risk potentially causing more casualties or extreme losses to their own ranks.

Situations where the giant officer is discovered are typically/preferably resolved by conversation and some giants carry an extra "giant ration" for such occassions, Potentially walking away with "all remaining victims". But often enough the pred prefers to keep their remaining prey, and the officer/giant is forced by CVRC policy to "politely" (whether they want to be polite or not) walk away with their rangers and remaining refugees

If the pred attacks one of the giant/officers subordinates... however, that is a different, much, much more violent story

....

This is more a hypothetical image to illustrate CVRC tactics, then anything in CVRC "canon

Started drawing the foreground "pred" as Karbo's Vivian and kind of faltered here and there but yeah, sure, we'll go with that, Vivian must have been feeling gracious as she could easily charm Morai into "hand feeding, both the refugees and her entire ranger squad to her" if she was feeling particularly vindictive.

And Morai isn't stupid she's a bit of an emotional loose canon but she knows Vivian could do some pretty unpleasant things to her, her frustrated expression is more because she has a handful of traumatized rescued victims all freaking out as they watch their comrade get eaten.

Morai and the CVRC are my dealio

Felarya and Vivian (... i guess...) are Karbo's shindig
