Asami is gorgeous. Straight gorgeous. I feel like of all the beautiful woman I've drawn, she ranks up there among the highest with breathtaking allure. So when I didn't include her when I drew a new comic featuring Korra, I felt in my heart that I needed to draw her again, allowing her to be front and center in her own story.

I'm really glad I did, because I did not make her look beautiful on my first attempt in 2016. xD

When doing these comparisons, it's been very interesting to see the progression over three, even four years. What surprised me this time was finding that I only did the Korra/Asami comic barely over two years ago.

I often scold myself for not doing enough deliberate practice, but the work itself has prove to be deliberate practice. Two years ago doesn't seem like that long in terms of developing skill...but clearly much can happen in that time if you're always drawing.

I've always wanted a more realistic look to the characters I draw. Not necessarily realism, but correct proportions, angles that don't look funky, physics that are believable, continuity of features across all pages. I think I'm getting there. :)

Thanks to everyone for being along for the ride on my artistic journey. If this much can happen in two years, can't wait to see what happens in two more!

And be sure to check out Asami's new story on my Gumroad.

I'll read the older one, enjoying it and liking the art, then I'll go to the other one and my mind is blown by the quality. I'm legitimately not sure if there's much room to improve any more, but at the same time I'm sure in a couple more years we will be looking at the current pieces like we are looking at the old ones.

And you know what? I can't wait.

There’s always always room for improvement!! I hope in a couple years I’m still swinging away at this, and you’re still enjoying it. :)

Can’t wait either.
