Let's see. If he wants revenge then the easiest thing is to trick Maria into thinking that the others plan on taking him from her. And if he makes the right offer he could even convince her to save his sister as well

On the same note, he will need a really good excuse for trying to flee from her now should he seek her aide later. It seems very likely to me that he will, at some point, need her aide.

I've been reading this series for a while. Although I love the suspense and peril of entrapment it does create a lot of prolonged stress. The writing is great, both your creativity and cruelty can make it exciting to see what happens next! I beg of you that there is a happy ending to this after all the torment your main character has gone through. Even if that outcome is considered "alternate ending". I just need closure.

I do think it could be possible for Maria's love to be the key which creates a moment of clarity, mutual respect, and understanding. Or atleast, she seems to stand the greatest chance of reigning in the other two.
