I made this page a lot harder and far more drawn out than I needed to. I also have a bad habit of writing characters that are jerks..

Anyway, I'm going to delay distributing stats because I was honestly confused on how to handle the votes. So from this point on, each point being allocated is going to have a separate vote. We can do it over two pages or all at once, but just know that if we're doing both at once the order of which a stat is voted for will greatly matter.

However for anyone who doesn't want to vote for stats again, here are three outcomes with a brief explanation on their results based on the voting from the previous page:

Double Agility; Three people voted for this exact distribution of points and unfortunately were the main cause for my decision on delaying the distribution as I had no means of dealing with both points being put into a single stat. The benefit of this is that Lyra would become fairly mobile and learn how to be stealthy, and give her better odds at reacting to danger via getting out of the way. She'll be able to learn movement based skills, but won't get as much out of them as she is and don't really work with the fact that she is a pred who will carry and gain weight.

Strength + Agility; Over all, these two had the most points between them with 5 votes each. Apparently with the new system these two would also be the two stats being picked as well, or so I'm told. Benefits lay with the fact that Lyra will be able to learn common skills for fights and could attack with any weapon twice at the cost of energy which she doesn't have any use for at this time as well as helping out with her preding. She'll also get the movement benefits but would be unable to learn movement skills.

Strength + Intelligence; My personal pick from the votes as it gives the above mentioned strength benefits, but also gives Lyra the ability to start learning (but being unable to use) magic. Depending on how Magic ends up working, Lyra may be able to figure out how to teach herself magic.. or have to learn from some other source. If she tries to teach herself magic, the element would either be random or voted for.

Finally, if people would rather.. I can place a link to the "party" google doc I have in the discord thingy instead of having stuff listed in the description.

Re-Voting for stats can go here. Let's just go one stat at a time please to make this easier on me.

jjlava

Posted by jjlava 6 years ago Report

Going to have to vote for strength, getting to that five stat mark is important.

Eboros

Posted by Eboros 6 years ago Report

for me, i will choose agility.

TotallyRandom

I vote strength too

randomguy15

Posted by randomguy15 6 years ago Report

Strength for the first

Kartomic

Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report

Voting for magic because, once more, we have a sword capable of channeling magic, and I imagine that we could use that to great effect later on.

Graywolf18

Posted by Graywolf18 6 years ago Report

I'll vote for Agility.

JScofi

This is probably a really good deal, free meals and a (probably) cheap room, plus cute little kobolds running around is a big bonus.

Pay for the room just so we have a place to come back to tonight then head off to find a blacksmith.

AwokenedWispKP

I guess as a note, Lyra woke up around 6-7 in terms of how time would be related to how it does here. She arrived at the town at about twelve-ish.

It was sort of stated in the demo, but traveling around at night is dangerous.. but there's still a good 6 hours or so of safe daylight. There's a fair bit of time to do stuff on the first day, especially if a mode of transport was obtained.

jjlava

Posted by jjlava 6 years ago Report

I didn't mean to suggest going to sleep now, only paying for the room now and coming back for it later that way no matter what happens we have a room to come back to even if we get robbed or spend all our money. Because lets all be honest here there's no way we're going to sleep anywhere else, the kobolds are just too cute.

That's why I suggested going out to find a blacksmith after renting the room.

Put stat in str.
That guard must have skipped lunch or that symbol marks a specific type of guard.
Sleeping in the inn should be the safest spot.
(Do we need to buy a portable sleeping bag to avoid debuffs from sleeping outside?)
Go to adventures guild and the smithy.
(pat small lizard folk and praise for keeping the inn nice and tidy)
Pay for inn and reserve enough coin for 2 days

The guard is a member of a Pred division, is the simplest way I can put it. They handle removing several issues from the town, ranging from violence to problematic drunks. They also deal with problems like beasts that "may" become a problem and that adventurers can't generally handle. Sort of like specialists.

Vore used as a means of detaining and dispatching criminals? Interesting... We'd best not get on his bad side, I think!

Eboros

Posted by Eboros 6 years ago Report

this cobolds maids are ... interesting !!!
for the rest, I propose to go directly to the adventurer guild and the smithy to buy basic equipment and eventually take a quest (well, i think it will be best to just take a look for the quest just to have an idea of the type of ennemi and people that are in this region.

and also, if there are kobold that want to follow Lyra to her room, just let them do it !!!!! (if she have the time to take a rest to her room !)

AwokenedWispKP

Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report

They're sorta just servants in lots of places, although some Kobolds can grow through special means and well, not be Kobolds anymore.

TotallyRandom

Posted by TotallyRandom 6 years ago Report

Well, we will rent a room. Don't want to sleep in the streets.
We should also ask her if there is a healer somewhere in town, to fix our memory issue. The healer will probaly not be able to help us, but maybe can point us into the right direction.
And we probably need some more money, so ask if there is a place where jobs are offered, or an adventurers guild.

We should head to the local market, specifically the smith. While it is unlikely they would have a sheath for our sword, sheathes were usually custom made to fit the sword, but they would know a local crafter that would be able to make one assuming they themselves could not. They would also be able to point us to other local merchants and craftsmen from whom we could buy the supplies we would need to travel that a smith would not have. before reserving a room we should investigate this work the guard informed us of, while it is unlikely that we would be able to complete it before nightfall, it is best to explore our options before making a decision.
Along these line I would also advice going to the tavern at some point before turning in for the night, though we may not get to that in the next update.

AwokenedWispKP

Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report

It's nice for someone to bring up the job the guard handed Lyra, although I understand people are just trying to figure out their options.

Adorable style of kobold. Totally would love it if the night’s rest was sleeping in one of their bellies xd

AwokenedWispKP

Heh, well, we might be able to at least end up with a few cuddling Lyra.

randomguy15

Jogoon

I would rather see us sleeping with one in our belly, but I wouldn't want to hurt the little guys

randomguy15

The last page I think alluded a little to the possibility at least of not having to have harm come of it

Kartomic

Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report

I wonder if Lyra is capable of digestion control so she could invite a few of the kobolds to chill inside of her for awhile. Then again, there are other places besides the stomach that Lyra can offer to them if need be...

Kartomic

Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report

Rent a room, and ask the innkeeper for more information about her town. Since it's still quite late, we should plan on going to sleep until morning.
Plan on heading to the market, preferably to the Smith to try and get a proper sheathe made for the Ancient Blade.
Follow-up on the quest poster the guard gave us, and maybe head over to the Adventurer's Guild when we get a chance: aside from the adventure, I imagine that there's some gold to be made from joining!

Those are some incredibly cute kobolds, and it seems like Lyra is quite popular with them... if the situation presents itself, we ought to invite some of them to spend the night with us! (Or in us, if it's safe to do so). As far as the guard's attitude, I'd write it off as standard guard gruffness, although I am intrigued that he was able to identify our Relic on sight, as well as the enchantment placed on it. Perhaps he can sense magic in some way? And to his credit, he did give some useful nuggets of information: carrying multiple weapons/tools being one of them, and I encourage following that advice.

Here's a fun tidbit about how I'm handling daylight in TRPG: You can kind of easily tell what time of day it is by the colour of the background. Light grey is Day, Orange is Afternoon (And saying there's about an hour or two left of safe travel time) and dark blue is Night.

Kartomic

Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report

Ooh, TRPG has it's own day/night cycle. Nice! By the way, I was wondering: can Lyra control whether or not she digests someone/something she eats, or is that a learned skill?

AwokenedWispKP

Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report

She absolutely can't right now.

Kartomic

Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report

Gotcha. If someone is anal vored or unbirthed in TRPG, will they also digest?

AwokenedWispKP

Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report

Anal would eventually if prey were drawn into the pred's stomach, unbirth is moreso based on situation or race.

But the pred actually has to be able to perform these methods first.

Kartomic

Ooh!

Also, you.. really, really reply to a lot of things. I don't necessarily know if that's a problem or not, but most of the notifications I get from this are you. xwx;

I guess.. you're really into it?

Kartomic

Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report

Oh, I hope I'm not being annoying. D:
I've always liked these types of interactive forum games(?), and tend to be rather enthusiastic when I find a new one that I like (and I do like it quite a bit), though sometimes that enthusiasm may be too much.

Kartomic

Graywolf18

Posted by Graywolf18 6 years ago Report

Go ahead and get the room for the night then check out the bill Jerkface gave us in the morning. Maybe look at the prices for a basic camping/survival pack.

JScofi

Posted by JScofi 6 years ago Report

Pay for tonight's room, and go find the people the quest is for, asking them what you should get for the trip. It will sound novice, but they would have the best advice, short of talking with that guard again.

AnominableBreadman

May as well jump on the strength Bandwagon, Anyways before we stay at the Inn, lets go explore the place that we might be staying for a bit, perhaps see if She can't find more safer work here and check out the other people around. Plus other than the job given we could also see if there are more safer work here.

AwokenedWispKP

I find it funny how people have gotten the idea that it is horrendously late and we need to sleep! but I make it fairly obvious when time is running out, considering the demo was a fairly good example of Afternoon and Night.

But yeah, I make a good argument for raising strength to at least five.. but my assumption is just that people are trying to figure out what each stat actually does and by how much. The problem is that Agility, which is mobility, is a bit beneficial in different ways for different races considering humans can't fly and moreso need strength and dexterity for climbing with their bare hands (or just strength when using tools). An argument could be made for jumping, but there'd still be some strength involved for how high or far while Agility would be more for reaction. Since even I don't know when the first option to change race will come up, I've been fairly open about raising Str, Dex & Int as Human Lyra would benefit from those most. Of course, depending on her race that could easily change and Strength could become less useful (Or even fall below 5 as said race may start with a base strength of 2)- and so on if you get the idea. But yeah, Higher strength means Lyra will have an easier time nomming baddies.

Kartomic

Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report

Gotta sleep to finish digesting that tasty wolf! Nah, if we still got time left, we ought to go exploring for a bit!

So the stats can have different effects based on what race you are, and some stats are better for certain races than others. Very interesting... I'm willing to bet that the Int stat is universally useful, which is why I'm gonna keep evangelizing it. Gotta learn some magic!
