I apologise for seemingly "cutting out" the lewd bits that should've taken up the entirety of this page, but I really wasn't feeling well and I didn't want to write anything I personally wasn't about to get into. So try to enjoy the top-down cuddle view if possible. e-eh heh. erf.
Anyway, again, sorry for skipping over content and then continuing on with with the shopping. There were at least enough people who wanted the kit from the general store so I justified using the skip to buy it. Sorry if that annoys a few people.
Anyway, Lyra is currently much weaker than a lot of NPCs right now in a lot of ways outside of just stats. I mean, if every single point was invested in Resistance, I'd actually have bothered to make a roll for chance.. but right now Lyra essentially has no practical skills, experience, gear or magic to rely upon. Of course, over-time she will gain these things and (sort of) safe experiences like this'll be helpful down the road. Lets just hope this lasts long enough for it to matter. And yes, I can just never introduce characters & enemies that Lyra just can't deal with.. but that isn't really as enjoyable.
My rambling aside, Lyra now has the means to travel a distance away from town thanks to her ability to properly carry things. Sorry for anyone who commented on wanting to do something along those lines, but you'll likely have to make the suggestion again if you haven't changed your minds.

"A simple courier run"
A group of researchers have set themselves up in some ruins of which the full trip there and back would take nearly two days from the town you are in on foot. They seem to be in constant need for supplies, but it seems like none of the locals are too excited to take up this mantle. However, apparently they have something to do with the earring you found clipped to that Ravenous wolf's ear, so it might be worth checking it out. You should meet up with the mechanic who lives in the town to see what this is about.
"The sword's Trial I"
There's a nearby ruin called a dungeon where you can undertake something called a Trial in order to upgrade the Old One's sword in a meaningful way, it's likely to be fairly difficult and seeing as you have no idea what will happen, it is also going to be fairly hard to prepare for this as well. Strangely, you feel as though you won't be able to bring anyone along for this one.

I don't know if that was intended as the guard inviting us to go talk to them, but I choose to interpret that as the case, go talk to the guard, moving around the group as they had indicated. Possible discussion topics: why he wanted us to go around the crowd, what's the deal with the guard we had encountered earlier, ask about smith though avoid disclosing what actually happened with her, we mention we had a weird feeling around her, also ask about the adventurers guild, the smith seemed to have some poor opinions of them.
But of course we should start with asking there name, which reminds me, did we ever get the smiths name? We should probably learn it if we haven't.
After this, or if the guard is uninterested in talking with us, head to the tavern, we could probably ask most of the same questions to anyone in there that is willing to talk with us.

They honestly weren't, they, and my extension, me, were warning Lyra not to go through the markets.
I was mostly using the same guard with the excuse that they'd at least recognise Lyra's face.

I kind of want to go through the crowd just to defy him and party to see what would happen.
Cut through the outskirts of the crowd passing between only a half dozen or so people heading towards the guard.
Hey, did you need me for something?
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
That's.. dangerous thinking. Especially since they got the sharkbutt off Lyra's back.
Posted by jjlava 6 years ago Report
Oh yea it definitely is dangerous, I'm not going to dispute that. It's stupid really but still I'll be damned if I'm not curious about it.
Granted I probably wouldn't have suggested it if I knew there was a chance it could actually happen.
I guess I just like finding out what would happen for ourselves more then just being told what would happen.
It's a good chance to have another chat with the guard though, might even be a chance to try and make a friend or failing that an ally.
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
I mean, that's understandable. It's more interesting to have an adventure, than to be told about one.

We may need to rest before doing any questing. But I would say doing looking at the swords trial first, who knows maybe we can't do much and have to go back later, better to get a feel for what's required now.
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
That's a pretty solid idea, although these things were kinda made in mind that they could be completed on the first try.
I'd say wait until level 3, although since I can't control stat growth that's a little pointless. For the most part, I'd recommend Lyra actually getting some more skills/abilities and maybe develop another trait through possible training.. although she definitely can safely attempt the trial without risk of dying.

Move around the crowd and go talk to the guard. Ask what's happening in the crowd. ... I kinda want the guard to pick us up and put us on his shoulders so we can see. Once we're through with that we should head back the the Inn for a bath and a nap.
Make note to ask for sex without mind control next time we visit the smith. :)

The guard seems fairly popular in terms of being asked what's going on, although I guess that makes sense since the other two options involve ignoring them and either cutting through the crowd to get somewhere faster or walk around the crowd without talking to them.
I don't think she can help it when she's being lewd, might need to train in order to resist charm/mind controlling effects. Although, past this point Lyra will actually fight to stay aware of what's happening should she fall under the charmed status again as she's fairly conscious of what it feels like now. Heck, if she fell under it enough times, she'd get a resistance to it without needing a lot of points in the stat.

Hmm, now there's an idea! I don't know if building a resistance to the Smith's mind control would mean Lyra would be resistant to all forms of mind control, but pursuing that resistance could be benefietial to Lyra nonetheless.
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
It would be Charm & Hypnosis/whateverthepeckthatis, and Total Mind domination via those methods.

The link for stats works fine, though i wonder what is for. are we waiting to fill in a new skill?
As for actions, go around the crowd and ask the guard what's going on. I'm still interested in checking out the training ground, if only to see what its about before going to bed (no energy to actually train today)
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
That's probably for me to know, at least for now.
Yeah, I can imagine energy would be a problem since skills & magic actually need energy to be used. I'd probably make it that they contain something to mitigate this issue since I honestly wouldn't want to take away the option of training, especially this early on.
Posted by JScofi 6 years ago Report
Most games that have any sort of stamina or energy system make it so that energy comes back over time. Long enough that its not useful in battle, but as a day goes, you can wind yourself, catch a breather, wind yourself again, take a break, wind yourself, so on. That would allow for training. You could even demand we stop and eat and so forth as we wind ourselves several times. In practice this basically means the more energy we have, the more of the day we can spend training instead of taking breaks and recovering.
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
Yeah, Energy recovers much like health does.. although health recovers slower. It's 0 currently because it was freshly picked on the same page.
Of course, passive regen (unless say, you're something like an Axolotl or Slime, just something that has really good recovery) is disabled during encounters to prevent the player, party members and enemies from being much harder to kill.
Posted by JScofi 6 years ago Report
So for something like training, you'd just figure a shift, or day of training includes breaks to get energy back, and just say you get this much more skilled at things over the day slash shift.
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
Well training would take up a bit of time, and would likely take up a good portion of the page or multiple pages depending on the nature of said training/character development.
I'd say doing something with a party member would be different from traditional training, but let's say that if Lyra decides to go to the training area, she'll spend the rest of the existing day there.

Walk around crowd and talk to guard and ask what's going on.
Avoid the adventure guild as tempting as being brought back is, being stuck in eternally lack of money would not be fun.
Take a rest before doing anything risky (don't tell anyone you have no energy.)

More than just a pretty face, indeed: i quite like the smith! "Im not your first", what did the smith mean by that, i wonder? And what did she do to us while we were charmed? That bit about the adventurer's guild and immortality is a tad sinister, so i definitely think staying away from them is a good idea.
Anyways, i'd say to heed the guard's advice, avoid the markets and, if possible, make our way over to him to chat. He seems a mite friendlier than his fellows! Afterwards, depending on how much gold we have left, return to the Kobold Inn, buy a room and some food, and see if any of the cute little lizards (or their equally cute boss) want to snuggle. :3

The whole interaction with the smith was going on about Virginity. Lyra was not penetrated by any means, persay.
Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report
Ahh, that makes sense.
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
Maybe I'll have Lyra recall her first experiences with her.

see what the shark gaurd whants
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
This is not the shark, this is the guard who stopped the shark guard from goading Lyra into attacking him.
