Five Stages 
Growling,
it surrounded him, gurgling, groaning, gluttonous grinding glove of
flesh kneaded him as he trembled, as he whimpered. 
“This
can’t be happening...It can’t, it can’t be happening.” James
whined to himself. It was impossible. Life couldn’t end like this.
It couldn’t go this way. Not for him. This is a dream, a nightmare,
a bad trip! This isn’t what happens to boys like him. This isn’t
what he deserves. No he just had to sit tight and wait,

Cave of Blunders
He
smelled it first, the lingering reek of the giant’s cave. The last
notes of the arias of despair that were the final prayers of those
who had gone before him. Each of them hellbent, each of them broken,
each of them lost. It was well known what became of those who woke
the slumbering beast, he’d made a spectacle of it more than a few
times. It had stuck with Tim, the look on that boy’s face as the
