Manifesting Abundant Mutuality

This piece represents embracing the opportunity for mutually beneficial connection. There are times where it can feel like it’s a struggle to treat others with the dignity, love and support that all beings deserve. When we invest in that expression of care only to find that others are unwilling or unable to invest that same energy, it can be infuriating to run on empty especially when our moral code prioritizes that we still need to give. On a physical level, food is one of the foundations of our needs.

This piece is entirely constructed out of permutations of abundant women eagerly embracing each other as nourishment and as lovers who deserve to be nourished. This mutual expression of care on such a fundamental level integrates the color, vibrancy, learning, life and spirit that can manifest when all people are cared for in the ways they need it. This is expressed through the mind, symbolized by the heads of the 2 largest figures being constructed of this mutual consumption. It can be expressed through action, symbolized by the hand built of consumption. There is both fusion and individuation, expressed by the many places where two become one, and that one is made out of many. The dozens of fat figures express that when we come from a place of mutuality, none need to starve, and all can flourish.

Manifesting mutuality requires both receptivity and action. Many of us have learned to ignore our own needs in the process of serving others, and it’s our responsibility to learn how to communicate this language which can seem so foreign to our minds yet familiar to our hearts.

May all who see this share in mutual abundance, may their needs be met, and may they experience the joy of nourishing those they care for.
