A snake girl is just a normal half-girl, half-snake hybrid. They're also sometimes called lamia or naga. Lamia comes from Greek mythology and always refers to human upper body and snake lower body; naga is from hindy mythology and is more loose in the meaning. It can mean a snakegirl, or a snake with a human head, or a human with a snake head, or many other things.

Echidna is the mother of monsters from Greek mythology. She is sometimes portrayed as serpentine, but it differs between the sources. Sometimes Echidna is also a monster with no human features.

A gorgon is a human with snakes for hair, who can petrify with their gaze. Sometimes they're also portrayed with a snake tail instead of legs, but not always. They always have snake hair, though!

Even with that being said, the Lamia was also never implied to have a snake body either. That's something that the internet came up with. The Lamia in Greek mythology, at most, is technically just a Greek vampire. A woman who is "kind of snake like" and feeds on children. She was just one of those scary stories you tell to kids to keep them from staying out to late.
