First and foremost, this was a commission done by ecchipandaa during the artslave stream on April 18th.
At one point in the Archean Eon, the Earth had finally settled into a stable state from which it would slowly develop into the planet it was in modern times. With the earliest landmasses established and life beginning to form, the planet engaged in a first and final move; creating an administrator for itself. Using a majority of the mana that it had within itself, the Earth in its only ever act created two beings to care for itself, a being that would oversee the land and one that would care for the ocean. However, an error occurred and the caretaker for the ocean absorbed the other one as due to need for more mana and due to its domain having more presence than the other's. The end result was one being tasked with overseeing and managing the planet, a being whose presence would effect everything from the early Earth to its distant future, a being that wouldn't be named until the earliest dawn of civilization.
Tiamat.
Though all powerful, Tiamat was nothing more than an automaton who wandered the planet alone. She walked the earliest landmasses, swam through the oceans, and all without ever having a thought in regards to what or who she was. Her ocean swims however were the most notable as her shed scales would drift to the bottom of the ocean floor and eventually decay releasing all manners of nutrients and the faintest hints of mana to the early microscopic life that rested there. This would continue for a good amount of time as life and the planet continued to change as Tiamat continued wandering. Many changes and events were had including a few extinction events that the Earth Administrator had various roles in.
After many millennia, the dawn of mankind eventually came to be and the first cities arose in Mesopotamia some time following it. Tiamat had seen many creatures in her time, but none ever behaved like this before. She had witnessed so many lifeforms and none of them had decided to not only settle together, but also construct things. The fact they were capable of actual speech and were bipedal were just more points that attracted Tiamat's attention. While they didn't have wings, or tails, or horns, or scales they were very similar to her all the same. As a result she wound up watching over them ever curious to their activities.
And this would lead her to make the first choice in her existence, to help humankind.
The early humans of Mesopotamia were at first frightened and confused by Tiamat's appearance, but an understanding, albeit a very basic one, was quick to form. Tiamat would live among humanity in Mesopotamia and assist them in any way she could. Something within her was telling her this was the moment she was created for. The planet had been awaiting a race with the potential to be more than just beasts content with the primal struggle of existence. It had been awaiting the birth of a species willing to overcome the struggles and attain a greater away of life and it was Tiamat's responsibility to oversee, guide, and protect them. And so she did.
Tiamat would live among early humanity for some time, though she often left them to return to the oceans to swim feeling more at home in the seas than on land. It was also around this time she began to birth her own children, the first mystic beasts that would exist upon the Earth, but while some of them resembled her greatly and others didn't, none of them were like mankind. No matter how many serpents , dragons, or other beings that were born from her, none of them had the same intelligence or awareness humanity had and that very fact gave her her very first emotion; dread. Existential dread took root within her as she continued her life among the Mesopotamians and by herself as she swam the oceans and it only grew more and more with the passing of time. She wasn't sure how to cope with some manner of fact that she was on the verge of grasping, but something was preventing her from grasping it for her own safety.
Finally at one point, it all went wrong. Tiamat attained self-awareness and the existential horrors she had been grappling finally overwhelmed her.
And it all came to a head when she learned that humanity had no interest, or capability, of joining her in the ocean and living with her there. It felt like a betrayal. It felt like something sharp being lodged into her chest and she couldn't pull it out. It hurt her on levels she had never experienced.
And it made Tiamat go berserk.
Mesopotamia wasn't ready for the Earth born Goddess' assault. Her size, her might, her magic, and her offspring were simply too much. Though the offspring of Tiamat could be fought and slain, and even eaten to the surprise of some, the Goddess herself was simply untouchable. For anyone brave enough to fight the towering draconic woman fund themselves either eaten, absorbed, obliterated, or even mutated into a brand new form of life! Tiamat was simply unbeatable in the eyes of many, but they still rose up to fight her. Fortunately, a hero would soon arise.
His name was Marduk and he was something of a famous hunter in the region having gone after regular animals and the beasts spawned by Tiamat before her attack. He was approached by the mystics of Mesopotamia who had managed to come up with the necessary spells to make one able to fight Tiamat, but the problem lied in the fact they could only apply the enchantments to one person at a time due to the still early magics they had a hold of. Marduk accepted and the mystics applied the proper spells to him and his weapon of choice, his axe to prepare for what could be the final showdown with Tiamat. Once it was done the famed hunter went out to find his quarry. He had no trouble in doing this and and after slaying through a horde of Tiamat's offspring began his fight against the Goddess herself, earning an audience from his fellow man and even the monsters as well.
Tiamat was caught off guard by the fact none of her usual methods worked upon Marduk and was thus left with having to actually fight him, something that would prove to be her downfall due to her lack of combat experience. It was a battle that lasted for three days, but in the end Marduk prevailed and slew Tiamat. The finishing blow upon Tiamat was an axe swing into her chest that slew her before she even realized she was dead. Upon her death however, she let out a cry as her body exploded with such power releasing all of the mana that composed her being and eventually bathing the entire Earth in mana resulting in many different events. Furthermore, Tiamat's body was reduced to fragments that were carried by the massive mana explosion and sent across the world.
These fragments, while harmless by themselves, would eventually come into contact with humans and result in the creation of new Great Mother Goddesses. Cybele, Gaia, Izanami, and Hathor were just some of the results of this. While all of Tiamat's fragments became deities, a single fragment of Tiamat herself was sent to the ocean where it helplessly drifted for centuries. Still sentient, Tiamat was simply stunned from the fight and unable to comprehend what had happened to her. Or why it even happened to her. All she wanted to do was raise humanity and have them stay with her. Was she wrong to want that?
She would never know.
Centuries would pass before Tiamat's last remaining fragment was fished up on the beaches of Arabia having been caught by complete accident. However, the group responsible for fishing what remained of Tiamat from the sea were quickly approached and paid handsomely by a group of Magi who were very interested in the fragment of Tiamat. Having been experts of magic and mystery, they deduced the fragment was of a being never seen before and could lead to possibilities beyond their wildest dreams. Of course, the first step was to try and revive the fragment into something resembling what it had once been and what better way to do that then fuse it with whoever they could grab for it? The last remaining fragment of Tiamat was just a mass of flesh with a few odd growths upon it as it never managed to recover from the fight with Marduk.
So after throwing enough people into the fragment and letting it absorbed them, the magi watched as the fragment slowly began to reform but it needed more. At this point, they were desperate enough to sacrifice the djinn they had in their services to the Tiamat fragment, feeding every last one to her and managing to complete the process… except the fragment itself made the bottles and lamps fuse together into a single bottle standing at six feet. This was of course to handle the fact that the newly reborn Tiamat was much larger than any of the magi had anticipated as she almost destroyed their lair with her height alone. With the revival completed, the magi went about trying to extract information from Tiamat except the newly revived Tiamat was having identity issues due to all of the people fed to her fragment to revive her. It seemed the entire endeavor was a failure, but they did what they could to try and salvage the entire thing by seeing what all she could do that regular Djinn couldn’t. The results from this test yielded more findings than the previous ones as while Tiamat’s wishes were still limited like all Djinn wishes, but what they could grant were much greater than an average djinn’s.
The last test the magi were ever able to perform with Tiamat was what any offspring had with her would be like. It was the test that consumed the most time, but all thirteen of the children Tiamat had all turned out to be entirely human with immense powers and seemingly half-djinn without any sort or trace of what her previous existence had been. While she was able to name and care for all of them, this unfortunately didn’t last. Rumors had been circulating long enough to earn the attention of quite a lot of people in the region who wanted in on the potential power within their workshop. Suffice to say, the group of magi were forced to scatter, some getting away, some not, while Tiamat’s children managed to get away… no one was sure whatever happened to Tiamat herself. In the chaos of it all, the person sized bottle was somehow lost and it has remained that way for centuries.
But perhaps it is best only Tiamat’s last children remain among the world of man, for the Goddess’ existence only provokes a potential doom for the world.
While Tiamat is now a mostly human djinn at the height of 22’7, traces of her original existence carried over into her current form. Furthermore, while diminished she has retained some of her previous powers and abilities back when she was a Goddess… albeit most of those are inaccessible due to the current major flaw ailing Tiamat. Due to the methods used to ‘revive’ her, Tiamat is constantly plagued by the thoughts and consciousnesses of those who were fed to her. She often loses track of herself and often has trouble properly emoting and as such comes across as completely apathetic.
If Tiamat’s bottle is ever destroyed or one attempts to free her, then the worst outcome will occur for Tiamat will not die, she won’t be drawn into Anun, and she won’t be rendered a normal human with magic. Rather, with the centuries of rest she’s had and all the mana that’s been fed into her will enable her to absorb her status as a djinn and convert all of it back into being able to restore her original form. The original goddess would walk among the Earth once more and she would regain her sense of self allowing her to potentially resume what she started all those years ago.

So If that bottle breaks, we could see FGO Babylonia type stuff happening.

Yes, albeit in some areas it would be better, but others worse.

I mean she'd be beatable, but that's not really helpful to hear given how heard they'd be to contend with either way. It's like hearing that the war machine of mass destruction isn't indestructible, but it's still close to impossible beat. Especially in a world with heavily reduced magic.

That's just what the rest of the Pandora cast would have to try and deal with.
Posted by Deviantfan16 5 years ago Report
I now kinda wanna see her reclaim her former power just to see how that'd play out. Namely with her other fragments since they've probably deviated vastly from their progenitor or 'mother'. You picked a good time to make this given the Babylonia Anime wrapping up and FGO Tiamat's role there.

I can assure you Tiamat regaining her Goddess status would go horribly for a lot of the Pandora cast, as well as the entire Earth itself. All of the goddesses spawned from Tiamat's fragments at this point are all long dead, but with the Deity system I'm still hammering out there's a chance to see them again. Especially those four.
Posted by Deviantfan16 5 years ago Report
Well even if they are dead, that just means less potential opposition. Though how could Tiamat's fragments be brought back? And how does that Deity System work?
Posted by DeadStrategicCactus 5 years ago Report
So basically, because in the Pandora-verse the vast majority of deities were all just regular people who wound up acquiring a massive amount of mana through various means (IE: eating other people) they grew and evolved into the deities. However, in modern times if one were to do this all they would do is become an avatar of a deity the corresponds with that person.
Posted by Deviantfan16 5 years ago Report
So if say Konoko managed it, she’d be the Avatar of Izanami while If Maria did it, she would be the Avatar of Hathor. Since those are the Gods closest to their home Cultures I’d imagine. I assume they cannot become a true god of their own because the current world doesn’t have the necessary Ambient Mana. What Gods would correspond to the other characters if they attained Godhood?
Posted by DeadStrategicCactus 5 years ago Report
Still working out the reason as to why they don't become a true unique god instead of just them adopting traits of a previous one. Anyway, Lucia for Gaia and Kayla for Cybele.
Posted by Deviantfan16 5 years ago Report
I thought maybe they start out as low level sort of like Minor gods. It'd take a long time to become a true god, until which time, they're essentially the Avatar for another. That'd also be why certain gods are associated with one another across culture. One was the Avatar for another at one time or another. That's why Rose wasn't that powerful in that one story if you wanna retcon that and was so easily eaten.
Posted by DeadStrategicCactus 5 years ago Report
The reason I have for Rose being weak in that one commed story was because she didn't even hit Deity level yet. She was close, but not yet there.
Posted by Deviantfan16 5 years ago Report
That works just as well, I was just trying to think of an excuse for that. What exactly would it take to defeat (aka Eat) a full fledged god? I'd imagine being a god as well helps.
Posted by DeadStrategicCactus 5 years ago Report
It takes a lot to deal with a deity. Trying to 1v1 one isn't a good idea. The only reason it worked for Marduk was because Tiamat wasn't fully aware of all of her capabilities and Marduk was able to take her by surprise through the enchantments he was bestowed.
So really, just make sure you have a sizable group and hope everyone is capable of doing something to harm one.
Posted by Deviantfan16 5 years ago Report
So If they all teamed up, could the Pandora Cast take one on? And I mean they all give it as much as they can, just straight team up.
Posted by DeadStrategicCactus 5 years ago Report
Ignoring Tiamat, the heavy hitters of the Pandora cast would be able to take on a deity. Now whether the victory is hard won or not is up in the air.
Posted by Deviantfan16 5 years ago Report
Yeah that'd be something to see. I hope their are minimum casualties. Though it depends on who becomes a god and how they act as one. You know going power mad or not.
If Maria became a goddess and gave birth to her kids, would they be gods, Demigods, or mortal?
Posted by DeadStrategicCactus 5 years ago Report
The Nitokids would be deities as well if born while Maria has achieved Deity tier.
Posted by Deviantfan16 5 years ago Report
They’d be the luckiest children ever. Do Demigods happen when a god has a kid with a mortal like in myth?
Posted by DeadStrategicCactus 5 years ago Report
Haven't gotten that far, but probably.
Posted by Deviantfan16 5 years ago Report
I’d imagine that’d be the case. Either that or that’s what that near god stage Rose attained would be called.
