Oopsie, yet another mistake he made (by my standards). It's easier to tell this time though:

Prepare for yet another analysis:
I feel like this time he could've just at least tried to hide from her or sneak away from her... because let's be honest, you're not gonna outrun Sarah. She's a hungry pred in peak physical form. So the only options you have against her is to either knock her unconscious (really hard and risky) or try to sneak away undetected (easier and less risky, but still challenging). In his case, sneaking away from her is his best bet but he chose to run conspicuously away from her. Maybe he didn't knock her out so that she lost sight of him, if that was the case then running'd be his best bet. But if she did lose sight of him after she got hit by that rock then I deem it a mistake trying to run away from Sarah.

Yeah when you make as many mistakes as he did, you're a pred's happy meal. But the story has not reached its end. Maybe he tricked us this whole time into thinking he's impulsive when he had a plan the entire time. Guess we'll find out...

The thing is that we know he is going to get eaten that the whole point of the comic. This is showed in the first two page's after that it's looking back 6 hours from before he got eaten to the point where het got eaten by Sara. I say he is 5 to 10 minutes away form being eaten by Sara. She just need to find/catch him.

You're right there sneaking away is a option, but he failed to knock her out, she just got a bit dizzy of that hit. But I do agree that hiding is better that running if you are trying to escape Sara. she is quite fast and persistent hunting her prey down.

I'm well aware that this is the backstory, but it has not yet been revealed what happens after he gets swallowed by Sarah. Maybe he somehow finds a way to escape or maybe RNGesus blesses him with a miracle to bail him out. But if I'm honest the story wouldn't be satisfying if he got out, by luck or by intelligence/wit. The best ending to his tale would be that he meets his end within Sarah.
