What would you do if you were a pubescent boy with a size-changing flashlight? Well, there are a few answers to that question. But can you guess which one Dipper’s going to try?

This one’s pretty short. Because it’s a fanfic rather than an original, I don’t have to spend time establishing anything- we get to just jump right in!

I realized I hadn’t written a fanfic in a long time. I had those two How to Train Your Dragon stories about six months ago, and before that my last fanfic was over a year ago! I started getting in the fanfic mood again, but I didn’t feel like writing any of the ideas I had in my notes. Then this idea popped into my head!

I’m a little surprised I ended up writing another Gravity Falls story- since I’ve already done a bunch of those- but what can I say? A lot of my ideas just fit really well with Dipper and Mabel’s dynamic. (You can find my other Gravity Falls stories here by the way):

As a side note, I’m really happy with how well this fits into the continuity of the show; it fits right between episodes 16 and 17 of the first season. They got the flashlight back in episode 11. Dipper still has his ‘secret’ crush on Wendy that he’s still exploring. The twins just finished their body-swap adventure in episode 16, so Mabel can reference “Why Am I Sweaty”. She can reference her date with Gideon from episode 4, but not treat him as a real threat yet. And in the next episode (17), she gets to obsess over Sev’ral Timez and Dipper just stays out of it- just like he promised.
