Dragon craves seafood
(vore, digestion, regurgitation)
The large green dragon woke up with a slightly empty feeling in his middle. He had an easy time hunting in the nearby woods and living well off the small critters his kobolds gifted him in tribute, or the larger critters they lured in with their tasty little bodies. But over the recent weeks he had felt a certain craving building up inside him and the recent heat wave only increased his desire to take a trip to the sea and plunge into the prey filled waters.
Ten meters of dragon and the same length of tail drowsily padded out of his shady cave and into the already hot morning sun. He shook his wings, unfurling them carefully before taking a short run and leaping into the air, lifting himself up a little, using creating a padding of compressed air between himself and the ground to fly with less effort. He did not care that he was easy to spot like this. Atsreys had no predators and he did not care for deer or wild horses today. He craved seafood.

It was a fairly long flight and with the sun seemingly frying his back, Astreys desired the fresh sea even more with every passing second. When he finally arrived after roughly an hour, the dragon cast a quick spell, allowing him to breathe underwater for the next hour or so. As air started to burn in his changed lungs, he dropped into the water, spotting a dense flock of diving seabirds right off the coast, guessing there was fish. And where there was fish, there was suitable prey for a hungry dragon.
Bubbles clouded his vision as he dove into the warm yet refreshing tropical water. As the silvery bubbles rose past him on his way down, the most beautiful, richly coloured scene spread out before him. Corals covered the ground, building an alien landscape of red yellow and blue with patches of brown or green seaweed in between where his realm was dominated by the omnipresent green. Using his wings like those of a ray, Astreys glided through the water, almost silently floating deeper, following the reef until it eventually dropped off steeply where it bordered the open ocean. He could already hear the commotion of the feeding frenzy involved with the suspected bait ball nearby and a few wing beats later he saw the outlines.
Almost like an underwater thunder cloud, a dense school of sardines was convulsing and morphing close to the surface, pinned between the surface, complete with birds diving down, a courtain of bubbles prepared by some dolphins at the bottom and nimble sharks darting through the sides of the bait ball, seemingly cutting holes into it with wide open jaws. This was exactly what the dragon needed now.

With a knowing smirk Astreys took a turn at the ball of fish, gaping his jaws which alone were as long as some of the sharks in the frey, and inhaled hundreds of liters of water. The solid mass of sardines tried to escape the suction of the hungry maw but was unable to. With his tongue pressed up to his palate like a grate, he stopped them from sliding into his windpipe and collected a solid mawful of them until he emerged on the other side. As he swallowed, he found that his massive frame, wings and all temporarily parted the school of fish into several smaller blobs, much to the delight of the suddenly charging sharks. While the fish were still being squeezed into his heated stomach, he wondered if he should go after those sleek predators for a more filling meal, but he remembered their rough skin and what it could do to his teeth. ‘Maybe one or two at the end?’ he mused to himself and turned his gaze down towards the dolphins. Those on the other hand were rich, soft fatty treats, but occasionally hard to catch since they worked together quite well.
Still since the dolphins were bubbling up the lower parts of the baitball, there was plenty of shady space for him to hide below them. Still his attempts to swallow one of them failed due to the pod’s vigilance, cittered cries warning his prey in time for evasive maneuvers every time. But then he noticed that there was a hole in their defence. In order to gain anything from all this, a single dolphin had to leave the group and swim into the sardine ball. And after the next one went in, Astreys swiftly followed.
The three meter long bull might have been the pod’s leader until now, but when a warm tongue wrapped around his fluke and pulled him into a very toothy maw, he was swiftly reduced to the main item of a dragon’s lunch. The taste was amazing and the struggles only rubbed it into his tongue and palate even better. There was simply nothing like swallowing around a big beefy dolphin and letting it wiggle its way down his gullet. The dragon swam back out of the densely packed bunch of fish, playfully swimming belly up towards the other dolphins as he devoured their podmate, trading the kicking bulge with a claw on the way down until it morphed into a subtle swell in his stomach. The pod was panicking at first stopping their bubble screen and forming up defensively to shield themselves against the dragon. The larger males were in front and the adult females were surrounding the younger ones to protect the pod from the massive predator. But what could they really do? Each one was good enough of a swimmer to fool and escape the dragon despite his size and strength. But even all of them combined could not fight him without half of them getting shredded and devoured in the process. While the dolphins slowly calmed down and resumed their feeding, Astreys had taken a few more passes at the baitball, finding out that there were enough sardines to envelop him in them. He wondered if he could hide in here to get some more easy snacks.
Sure enough his new strategy paid off. Especially the sharks seemed to forget about him as soon as all they could sense was just a big convulsing ball of prey and competition drove them to charge in. Even though the dragon was still mostly after the dolphins, he simply could not resist when a smaller shark entered his bubble inside the swarm. The dark, slightly copper coloured almost torpedo shaped shark zoomed in behind him and nearly escaped the hungry dragon, if it was not for the scaly predator’s long legs. His dagger-like claws gripped into the shark’s tail and after a quick transfer from rear to front paw to maw, Streys was working his tongue carefully, to slurp down his bleeding morsel without allowing it to touch his teeth too much. It was a tricky task involving a wide gape of his jaws, giving the poor former predator a clear view of the greedy throat it was about to descend into and a lot of work from his long dextrous tongue. He managed pretty well in the end and felt another fiercely kicking prey slip down into the bubbling acid bath of his slowly filling stomach. That shark soon perished, as the occasional maw full of sardines was piled on it, but the dolphin was not so lucky. Since it could hold its breath very long, it was doomed to find out first hand what dragon stomach acids did to food. For Astreys it was just more pleasant kicks massaging his belly from within.
At least the dolphin was not going to die alone in there, since the sharks grew more cautious after smelling their own blood. The pod tried to take advantage of that and now there were three confused dolphins before him, seemingly a female with her almost adult offspring. Astreys smirked as he grabbed the smaller ones in his front paws and then casually engulfed the shocked adult in his gaping jaws. This was going to fill him up nicely And he moved towards the surface as the second flailing dolphin fluke slipped past his gullet and was devoured. He proceeded much the same with the smaller ones, except for not letting them enter his stomach. INstead he stored them in his crop for later.
With half a ton of seafood melting in his stomach and half again as much stored in his bulging neck, Astreys waded to shore and dispelled his water breathing.
“I bet my kobolds will find you just as tasty as I did.” he chuckled at the still kicking pair of cetaceans in his crop and took flight, returning home, full and happy.
