The four directional warriors are sufficiently powerful that they are unchecked, and everyone bends to ensure they are kept happy, lest they destroy all who remain near.

It turns out having everyone obey your every whim while you are completely unchallenged is really boring for poor Yok.

But he finds something that he really wants to do amidst what has become the ritual of his life!

This story was a ride, haha. Today was rough so I couldn't focus at all, I started a story and didn't like it, went to work on my longer story and couldn't get it done, and then went to this one which I'd kind of started before and did it instead, and then the idea for a sequel showed up but I ran out of steam.

Crazy, haha, but woot I got it done! This is a fun setting and kind of calls back to the Terror of the Sands. This is also a bunch of stories in a row where orcs are combatatively terrifying, although they're not in /charge/ for all of them (Captured by the desolation in particular, haha).

Saturdays are busy for me, though, so we'll see if it ends up being a quickie or if I buck that trend!
