The light is on in the hallway.
The door is still locked, or at least the opening mechanism is on the other side of the door.
It appears the guard is coming back fast.
She might not be as diplomatic this time around.

My Inner Jew be like:
"DAMMIT, GIVE THE BUTTON BACC!"
Well, it might be a blunder tactically, but it is still a success, because it all was worth it. The passivity of the scene, the lack of reaction is hilarious!
Now what options do we have? The cell must be safe since the guard most probably has the orders to keep the prisoner in spot: the only excuse she might use to get away with was to eat the captive when he was "attempting to escape". And her entire plan must have been just for that! Somebody should really raise her wages, so she would not be tempted to seek mischievous options like this... Since Bright is back in cell, this excuse does not seem to work anymore though: determination or not.
In accordance with this logic it might be a good option to try and wait or even ask to talk to the captain or at least some other official on board the ship...
Going into the vents does not seem to be a good idea, unless Bright would like to go to the kitchen and enjoy something "on the house" while also trying to escape the chef's territory... But if Khera would go there as well this would be troublesome too.
So the only way to not raise alert might be to try the first option: "Stay in cell, maybe tell something ethical: 'Laudable is thy dedication to sin, whilst thou wantest to hurt me when I only asked for help from thee. My grief for thy hateful actions towards me is immense!', then see, what comes next; retreat only in case the guard declares holy war and starts opening the door with no intent of providing food and water or letting in somebody else".
Since Bright already knows the guard does not wish him any good, it might be only fair to try some option that implies avoiding her, but currently there seems to be none. The situation is complicated. I love the challenge.
(Scrapped option for what Bright might tell Khera in alternative universe if he had no regard both for his health and safety and the guard's feelings: 'Ho, hello again! Guess I might not be that *Bright*, but neither are you!~')

Not really sure what you could do here, since Khera seems pretty fast. If you go back in the vents, she'll meet you at the end again, or if you stay in your cell, what if she has the key for the room and decides to come in? >:3

That amazing low to the ground slide into the hallway is killing me, I love it.
