Mae incarnates on the plane of Paladins, quickly getting to know Io. Mae's natural affinity for the moon pairs with Io, and their shared care for others leads Io to suggest Mae help her by adding her soul to her 'batteries'. Mae of course, is all too happy to help, and eagerly dives in!
