After being bitten by a zombie, not only she didn't turn, but she also gained some new things: stronger, immune to the zombie virus and mysteriously camouflage from the zombie (like the ending in World War Z). So, she decides to temporarily swallow the team in order to prevent the team from fighting the zombie too much; and once she reaches safe place, she'll let the team out.
