forest. The plants here are pretty tame, but
it could be dangerous if they went further out into the countryside.

pseudo-science rationalization: this section of the planet is currently in a 'dry' area.
the air is still toxic, but does not involve acid rain.
Venusians can survive in all areas, but it's a lot easier to set up permanent shelter in dryer zones.
