Cortana was alone, sleeping on a remote beach.
However, a female Limulus Giganticus was coming to the shore in order to lay her eggs.
The process drained the mother from her energy and if she was to survive, she had to eat.
And Cortana being blue and sound asleep, the horseshoe crab mistook her for a fish that had been washed up ashore, and silently sneaked up to try and eat the blue lady from the feet up.
Only after her knees were envelopped under the smooth shell did Cortana stir awake.
As she turned, she was shocked to see the giant crustacean trying to fit her in but when she noticed a clutch of eggs nearby, she quickly calmed down, letting the female horseshoe crab take her as dinner...
