Dragon's Warmth on a Rainy Day By LivesInAStomach -- Report

On a fateful night, a magical encounter with a dragon at a bus stop gives Carolyn the warmth and safety she needs.

Day 8 of Voretober is here, and today’s prompt is “Transport.”

Bleugh. I really had higher hopes for this story. I wanted to include a lot more detail but today was really busy, and I was soooo tired... I almost didn't finish writing in time, but I pushed myself. Now it's here, and a little barebones, but hey. The challenge continues.

Damn, this was amazing!!!? You said it was bare-bone?! Just what sort of expectation did you have for this!?!!

This was amazing, I love the comfort belly you gave us! By establishing the cold and scared feelings Carolyn was feeling, it made it so much better when she was taken into warmth and comfy place. It's something I missed out when writing my story!

Also, when writing, the fact that you included 3 NPC's just adds to the mystery and world building!! Where did they come? Where were they going? What sort of stories did they have? It just added to the worldbuilding and look of things! This gives me the vibes of a Ghibli film, I love it!!

Ahhh haha I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much! I guess that's just my perfectionism creeping in, I had so many ideas in my head and I did not have enough time to write them all down and polish them. I'm just glad the end result is something readable.

(It also makes me really happy that you were able to pick up on Ghibli vibes, because that was a very conscious choice by me to write it like a Ghibli film, I was inspired by those.)

Absolutely! I love those worlds where not all of the questions are answered, where things are eldritch and fantastical! Makes me feel like there is so much to learn about this world and that things are moving around without the main character's actions!

I have only seen 1 Ghibli film (Princess Mononoki), but I have studied soft-worldbuilding and Ghibli film creation, so know exactly what you were trying to make! The wholesome and fantastical world you made is amazing storytelling!

I really enjoyed reading this! Don't knock yourself for writing something short and sweet.

Been re-reading my old work and decided to check out your 2021 stories since we were working side by side back then! This is still one of my favourite stories that you have written, it has the perfect amount of world building and just enough answers to make us invested in it!

Thank you so much, that's a really nice thing to say. Pretty rare to see this story being one of someone's favorites, but I'm pretty proud of it. I have fond memories of writing during that month with you.

Can't believe it's been almost 4 years. I'm sorry that I drifted away from you and your community, but at least I can re-visit the past.
