After The Great Devourer's awakening, The Lost City of Ouroboros was left abandoned once again. Living peacefully underneath Ninjago City, the Serpentine left the old desert alone, preferring to live quietly underground. However, Ouroboros was not completely abandoned. Every now and then, serpentine historians would explore the ancient city, hoping to learn more about their ancestors.

On this particular expedition, led by King Skales himself, the serpentine had enlisted the help of their anthropomorphic friends, Chaos the husky and Chris the fox. The two were fascinated by the serpentine, and had spent the better part of the past year befriending the LEGO snakes. They were more than happy to assist in any way they could.

Skales had one rule for the outsiders: "Do NOT enter any sssssacred tombssss. Only Sssserpentine are allowed insssside." Of course! Chris and Chaos did not dare to be disrespectful to their friend's customs. At least... not knowingly.

It did not take long before Chaos and Chris unearthed an ancient passage, buried under rubble and sand. Chaos, ever eager to explore, entered, much to Chris's dismay. The shy fox was worried it could be a tomb. It could be booby trapped! He ran in with the husky, trying to convince him to leave, but Chaos was not worried. This was just a perfectly normal passage! However, once the torches suddenly lit by themselves, the pair decided it was maybe best to get the serpentine, and leave this to an expert. That was when it happened.

A paw stepped upon a trapped stone, activating an ancient mechanism. A massive slab of stone, acting as the door to the hallway, began to slide down, sealing the pair inside! Chaos and Chris were unable to escape in time, the door shutting with a heavy thud. However, the two were able to alert Skales, who was a few yards away. As the hypnobrai king slithered over to help his friends, he noticed a terrifying marking on the massive stone door.

It was the mark of an ancient serpentine king! One of the most feared and powerful anacondrai to ever rule. Skales was not angry at his friends, they did not know what they had done, but they had to stay put. It was far too dangerous to venture deeper inside. Chris agreed, not noticing that something strange was happening to Chaos. The husky suddenly stood up, and slowly walked down the corridor, led on by an unknowable force. Chris could not stop his friend, he was under some sort of trance!

Chaos walked further into the tomb, until he was faced with the sarcophagus of the ancient serpentine king. It was an elaborate grave, adorned with a statue of an anacondrai. The statue was bearing it's fangs and holding a golden staff. Chris pleaded with Chaos, tugging on his arm, trying to stop him, but nothing worked. A strange voice had echoed into the husky's mind, guiding him to this place, offering him power and a royal gift. However in this moment, it allowed his mind clarity, freedom. It wanted his choice to be his, it wanted Chaos to choose at his own will.

And Chaos chose to take the staff.

A magical voice echoed from the tomb. "The choice has been made!" The lights changed to a purple hue, and magic flowed from the sarcophagus into the husky's body. "C-chaos! Drop it!" Chris begged, scared as can be. But he couldn't drop it, because a stone pair of fangs had bitten into his wrist, injecting Chaos with a liquid.

An explosion rang out, and soon a squad of snakes filled the room. Skales was furious, and scared. He demanded to know what was going on. As the fangs left Chaos's wrist, his mind cleared, and what he had done dawned upon him. He felt horrible, stammering with shame, and feeling woozy from the statue's bite. In a moment of rage and fear, Skales lashed out at his friend. For just a moment, his judgement was blinded, his brain filled with traumatic memories from of the years of serpentine powers being misused. He snapped, and only realized what he had done when he felt his fangs sink into his friend's heart.

Skales recoiled in horror, his poor husky friend was horribly injured because of him. He rushed to his side, helping Chris apply first aid. However, the pair stopped when they began to see Chaos change.

Chaos's fur began to fall out, moaning as his legs merged together, and his neck began to extend. The back of his head flared into a hood, and his fingers molded into one united claw. His muzzle squared out, growing two massive fangs, and his tongue grew long and thin. He no longer had legs, but long, hefty coils that slithered out onto the floor of the tomb. Chaos was becoming something that Skales had never seen before. The combination of anacondrai and hypnobrai venom must have made the husky morph into a royal hybrid, a fusion of two powerful snake races. Chaos slowly stood on his new coils, towering over his friends with that long squared neck. He hissed a deep breath, gemstone red eyes looking deep into his friend's souls. Chaos was now LEGO snake.

The poor former dog was confused, but elated by his new body. he was trying to move, trying to feel comfortable, but it just wasn't working. He couldn't figure out how to slither around, how to coil up Chris for hugs, how to control his new strength. He was scared, he didn't know what to do. He begged for a cure, remembering his past transformations that were easily reverted. Skales shook his head sagely. "A bite to the heart makesssss it almosssst imposssssible to revert… and… an ancient anacondrai venom… I’m ssssorry chaosssss…. But until we can figure out a cure, you are sssserpentine."

Skales continued to explain. "Thissss tomb is the losssst tomb of the gluttonous king, an anacondrai ruler that lead the sssserpentine many decadessss ago. Legend alwayssss ssssaid that the one who disssscovered hisss tomb would have the choice to inherit hissss powers, and hissssss royal form. In my rage, my bite musssst have alsssso added to that... Your body… Your blood… it is sssserpentine now, and you… are a king."

Skales then offered a solution. "I shall hypnotize you into… knowing your true place~ it will be dangeroussss for usss all but… I owe you thisss for my misssstakessss. You will believe you are a sssserpentine king, becausssse you are one now. Sssso you will be my king. And all of ourssss." Every serpentine in the room then bowed, already accepting Chaos as their new ruler. Skales was willing to give up his rule in order to make his friend happy. Chaos, honored, accepted.

The husky stared deeply into the hypnobrai's swirling eyes. Skales issued his commands carefully, soothing Chaos into being comfortable with his body. He hissed away those doubts, the thoughts of having legs, of being anything other than a LEGO snake. He was always Serpentine, he was powerful, and he was hybrid of kings, old and new. Chaos's lulled mind accepted all of this, taking it in as the new facts of his new life. However, unknown to Skales, another hypnotic force entered Chaos's mind. The same force that drew the husky into the tomb now had full access to his susceptible mind. The symbols that adorned the tomb's walls, all glowed, swirling along with Skale's eyes, pouring deeeep into his subconscious. A powerful, strange voice, flowed into Chaos's thoughts. "You are a hybrid king of all serpentine, the true ruler of them all. You are to take up the staff of the old king and rule every single snake. You are the true heir to the serpentine crown. All shall quake before you, and you shall rule forever. Take my power chaos. And be the ruler you know you always wanted to be deep down." These commands sunk into Chaos's very being, and when the hypnosis ended, he awoke with a strong, powerful, hissssss~

Chaos's posture was different. He carried himself like a true serpentine. He was powerful, handsome, and menacing. He hissed with glee, holding his gold staff and looking upon his subjects. Skales and the serpentine bowed to him, honoring their new king. However, the new king noticed something that must be dealt with immediately: An outsider has trespassed in a serpentine tomb!

Chris was scared as can be when the new, scalier Chaos slithered up to him. The fox whimpered before him, finding himself bowing out of fear. Skales tried to tell Chaos that Chris was a friend, that he didn't need to be punished, but Chaos wouldn't have it. Yes, he was a friend, but he was an outsider, and he was trespassing where outsiders never should step. As an act of mercy, the hybrid king decided Chris's punishment was not to die, but to be the royal slave, a personal servant for the king and all his needs. Chris was a flustered mess, but agreed, thanking Chaos as he was wrapped up in chains by obedient serpentine.

The reign of Chaos was upon the serpentine. A new age had dawned.
