Not sure what this is? Here's a post explaining the series!: https://aryion.com/g4/view/712411
____________
Taking a look at the notice board and checking in at the inn seemed to be the most popular choice! I had a bit of fun with how I wrote the bounties.

Now what should we do with our evening? A lot of possibilities have been laid out! Should we try to talk with the innkeeper or one of her patrons? Get to know the harpies better? Explore town? Just head straight to our room to sleep? Something else?

You can find Adrea’s character sheet here!: https://aryion.com/g4/view/712418

Remember, you can ask any questions about the world (that are relevant to the current chapter) if you think you want/need more information about something! I'll do a 'live' intelligence check before answering if it's something Adrea might know.

| CLOSED - There's either a more recent entry available to read or I've already outlined the next chapter! |

Ooh, nice formatting. Let's get to know the harpies better maybe we can learn more about the area from them as well. After all if we chose to take on any of the bounties, it would be a good idea to know if any are in the same area.

Most of the bounties, save for the goblin situation, seems pretty daunting to take on alone. I say just continue to Laridan with the harpies in the morning and ignore the bounties for now. Now I'm intrigued about what the lycan and mage are fussin' about, so maybe we can eavesdrop and see what they are talking about. If it's something we might know about, we can introduce ourselves to them.

Side note: Would it be possible to attempt a pick pocket? Or would we be too noticeable in this location?

Right here in the tavern? Odds that we could get away with it would be very low, lots of visibility and its not very crowded

Ye that's what I figured, but I thought I should at least ask

I say we get to know the blonde at the bar! Failing that, maybe chat up the innkeeper for information regarding Kalista Mae, as well as the town!

Love the formatting on the bounties, and all the options we've now got open to us! I've got a few questions though.

What does Adrea know about Goblins & Basalisks? I get the sense that we could probably take on a goblin in a fight if need be, but probably not a basalisk. Also, does Adrea know where Willow Prarie, Willow Run or Arwen's Creek are?

Let's take a moment to commit the sketch of Kalista Mae to memory. Weather we're planning on collecting the bounty or not, she's clearly dangerous so we should keep on the lookout for her while in & around Laridan.

I say let's buy a drink for ourselves & the brooding blonde & see what her deal is. I'm intruiged. If things don't go well there though, I'd say let's cut our losses & move on, get a table near the lycan & human & attempt to eavesdrop. Maybe introduce ourselves if it's something we might know about, as TrashMammal said.

I think trying to pickpocket people here is probably... a high risk option. Seems like a good way to get thrown out of town & lose our ride to Laridan at best, and get thrown down a gullet & lose our life at worst.... buuut I'm honestly not that opposed to the idea. Let's live dangerously, and maybe give it a shot if we can find a good target we think we have a good chance of succeeding with.

I figure it'd be risky, but 5 silver is 5 silver ya feel

Goblins: There was actually a goblin family living in her hometown of Wirn so Adrea is familiar enough with them. They're a race of very short, generally green-skinned humanoids, known to have claws and naturally sharp teeth but functionally no different from any other intelligent race. Given that whoever the goblin from the bounty is has been stealing food from a random fisherman, she's probably not particularly dangerous.

Basilisk: She doesn't know too much about them, but a neighboring village had trouble with one once when she was young. It's some kind of reptilian creature that's large enough to have been preying on sheep.

Locations: Adrea has never heard of any of those places before

In that case, if we have time after chatting to people at the Inn I think we should go find Malva's house and pursue this goblin. It seems like it'd be within our abilities to deal with & would be a good way to cover the cost of lodging here.

Chat and get to know the harpies better, they seem cool so far, we could get some information on Lariden before we properly arrive, and, quite frankly, I just think harpies are cool.

Also, going to go against pickpocketing, that’s something you do on crowded streets where you can disappear into the crowd if you get caught, not a sparsely populated tavern where the theft will be discovered the second the victim tries to buy another drink.

I will say, if we do want to pickpocket while we’re here, we should wait until tomorrow just before we leave, that way we’ll be long gone by the time that it’s discovered. Though, I would hate to cause trouble for the harpies in that case.

I'd say let's talk to our harpy caravan friends, seems to me they've probably been to Bellriver numerous times before. We should also inform them that we intend to take the goblin bounty and ask them what they think about it (this is assuming we do end up going for the goblin quest) But once we've got some good info we should make haste for the house across the river. Maybe we'll be able to resolve this quick enough that we don't miss our ride tomorrow morning. It'll cover our stay at the inn and (hopefully) fill Adrea's belly. Let's just hope it isn't some kind of newbie trap!

I'm interested to hear what the Lycan and the robed woman are talking about. Maybe Adrea can help them.

The Kalista Mae bounty seems daunting but passively looking out for clues would be worthwhile. The goblin bounty could be nice to pursue, assuming Adrea has the time.

I think we should talk with the Caravan Harpies, both to get to know them better and maybe get more information on Laridan (and Bellriver I guess). Pickpocketing sounds like a great way to get in more trouble than we can handle at this point, so I would vote against it. Nor do I think we should mess around with any of the disgruntled patrons, we are not ready for the barfight that may ensue. Assuming a 10 Silver coin to 1 Gold ratio, we are in a decent spot, so we should be safe just to continue onto Laridan.

As for the bounty board if we can do the Goblin quest quick enough, great but I wouldn't delay ourselves over it. Everything else, as has been said seems a bit above our paygrade, we really need a new buddy soon seems like. If we get up early, we should put in an hour or two on that bounty, and then head over to the meetup point regardless of result. We should probably ask for directions from the Innkeeper when we get the chance, maybe we should do that before talking to the Harpies tonight.

Yes, all the coin denominations are a 10:1 ratio! So 10 copper is worth 1 silver, 10 silver is worth 1 gold

Alright, that’s good to know!
