So long as you can wake up every morning and feel that deep love while looking upon your sleeping partner, then your marriage can withstand the test of time and any argument.

Heck, Ellie doesn't even care about Valentine's Day! The holiday was invented centuries after Ellie was born, and as a long-lived Gorgon, she's seen the holiday change shape and transform through the centuries. Its lost much of its sentimentality to her. But Ellie still gives Barbara a bouquet and a box of chocolates every Valentine's Day, since she knows how important the day is to Barbara. After all, their first date fell on Valentine's Day, and even if they couldn't be open about their relationship back then, Ellie and Barbara loved each other just as much as they do now.
