I'd had a half concocted story to go along with this. Perhaps I will finish it eventually, but who knows. It would either have been some new law letting women be eaten, or planet express just selling Leela to pay off the bills. She doesn't seem to mind too much.

I love leela, so her being eaten is awesome. But at the same time I can’t help but wonder how awesome it would be if she turned the tables lol

Doesn't need to be a new law. Just a different planet with different laws. Earth laws don't apply when you're making a solo delivery to a dangerous planet on your own. ^_^
