The Erydonian highland dragon is a feared ambush predator. It generally hunts at night, lurking motionless for hours by the water or slowly stalking the shrubland for unsuspecting prey.
They do however love the taste of young human flesh, especially lean adventurers or soft pleasure-slaves, and won't hesitate to crawl into an encampment (or sometimes even a small village or farmstead) to capture a sleeping morsel.
Slave-trading caravans are especially vulnerable to these night raids, and any merchant worth their salt will expect to lose at least one or two boys or girls in each trip and plan accordingly.
Of course, those are not the only occasions in which dragons get to enjoy their favourite food.
Dragons are very territorial creatures that often threaten mountain passes or other important routes, and many wealthy merchants and warlords have found out that leaving a juicy squirming morsel for the dragon is often the easiest way to gain passage - less risky than trying to sneak past, less costly in human resources than trying to fight the beast.
And some of the richest, most decadent nobles of the continent flaunt dragon 'pets' in their gardens as the ultimate display of wealth and power, and often host feeding shows to impress important guests or entertain their fellow aristocrats.

Great art and great lore. It must be wonderful to be a noble's pet dragon, living in a beautiful garden and snacking on slave boys/girls.

Imagining a noble that doesn't keep separate sleeping quarters for their human and more exotic "pets".
It's quite a nice place to live, actually - there's very comfortable carpet and soft pillows all over the floor, as well as lots of nice couches and bedsheets everywhere. Most of the other slaves don't mind if you want to have some fun with a couple friends at night, as long as you're not being way too loud.
The problem is that you're also sharing this room with your owner's giant lizard every night - and it's quite fond of having spontaneous midnight snacks.
