Meet my first Original Character, Blot the Squid.

Unlike most squids, Blot chooses to live on dry land, a world completely alien to the hostile, predator-laden oceans where she was born. However, despite the many differences from her home in the sea, the land can be just as bountiful as the ocean when it comes to finding prey.

Blot's favorite activities on land include wandering in search of food, digesting food, and making room for more food (in that order). From time to time, however, Blot can be seen making paintings with her ink, which usually depict her engaging in one of her other three pastimes.

Personality-wise, Blot appears to be lazy and laid-back, putting very little thought behind her actions. However, Blot is anything but slow or dull, as she is more than capable of preying on humans who might be unfortunate enough to underestimate her.
What Blot lacks in raw intelligence, she more than makes up for in predatory instincts, agility and stealth.
While capable of communicating with human speech, her lackluster conversation skills are merely a tool she uses to lure and trap unsuspecting prey into her gullet.

Not much is known about Blot's mysterious biology, as most attempts to interact with her end with a trip through her digestive tract, but a few details can be pieced together from preliminary observations.
In general, she shares characteristics of several different squid species, such as bioluminescence and the presence of a siphon on her head. Her black tentacles are slimy to the touch and leave behind a sticky ink-film when handled.
Her capacity for consumption is much greater than what one would expect from any squid of her size, but her predatory instincts are otherwise the same as any regular cephalopod.
Like other squids, Blot possesses the ability to produce a few distinct kinds of squid ink, which she can release from her body at will.
For starters, her mouth produces a white "glow-ink" composed of mucous, bioluminescent compounds and enzymes, making it's function similar to a human's saliva.
Blot is also known to release a sticky black ink from her mouth, nose, and/or eyes in stressful conditions, which can cause temporary blindness if it comes in contact with the eyes.
The final, and most enigmatic, kind of ink released by Blot is a brown, cloudy, substance comprised of intestinal gas and excess ink. In other words... squid flatulence.

Still, for every inkling of information known about Blot and her origins, there is a vast ocean of information which remains unknown about her origins and inner workings. (Like whether she has one eye or two??)
