"What? Neptune *draws*?" Believe it or not...yes! I do draw occasionally. A few days ago, I felt the drawing itch, but rather then get the powder I decided to give into my desires and doodle!

I decided to draw Hip for two reasons. One, because she has helped me w/a lot this past year and I wanted to show my appreciation. And two, because it gave me an opportunity to write a future scene in the siren baby arc story! Yeah, Hip will appear...at the very end. Along w/Amber.

Author’s note: the following excerpt is an extremely early/teaser for a later chapter in the siren baby arc, featuring Neptune Cruz–my shameless self-insert–meeting HipHugger Hippie for the first time. The actual encounter will probably differ in the final product but for now, enjoy this scene without context:

Neptune turned around to grab his phone out of his backpack. When he did, he jumped! There, standing completely still within arm’s reach of his bag was a woman. A tall brunette wearing a dark green tube top and patched-up bellbottom jeans.
“Ah!” Cruz was understandably freaked out at the silent woman’s sudden arrival. “Um, hello!”
The woman didn’t respond. In addition to looking like someone plucked out of the 1960s, the female also had one another notable attribute: a pronounced gut. At first, Neptune thought she was heavily pregnant with twins, but upon closer inspection he realized that the belly was wobbling in the wind. Each movement came with a gurgle or a groan; clearly, the stomach was hard at work digesting something. At the same time, the young man could swear he smelled a very strong jasmine aroma…which didn’t make any sense as there were no jasmine flowers nearby!
That’s when it clicked. Neptune’s eyes widened in horror and his knees began to shake as he realized who the woman was.
“...HipHugger…”
Before Cruz could say any more, the woman bent down and lunged right at him.


Thanks for reading! Ideally I'll continue working thru the siren baby arc some more. It's not that I don't know where I want it to go; I have the whole thing planned out! It's just...time. Time and motivation. But rest assured, I have *not* given up on it!
