I found another painting series of mine depicting Galadriel. (This is like the third one, or so. Don't even know how much more Galadriel I will find in there.)
As the title says, it explores the path of what would be happening if Galadriel failed to resist the temptation and took the ring.
The ring slipped out of frodo's hands and is being sucked right between the darkness of Galadriel's lips.
(Btw, before you ask, why this is in the Soul vore Category, it is because the ring technically is a container of Fëa, soul matter, specifically the Fëa of the second dark lord, known as Sauron.)

Galadriel belongs to Warner bros and originated from Tolkien's work.

well... that is certainly on way for sauron to be defeated. bound in the gut of galadriel as she becomes the new beautiful and terrible queen of all the realms.

Will he though, that is the question. Sauron, even though no longer serving a master, nevertheless fullfilled Morgoth's desires, despite not knowing it. If Sauron got replaced, would that not actually be a victory for Sauron (without him knowing)?

true, but i still think that if sauron is not the face of his own victory, even if his plan were to succeed, his autonomy being lost and integrated as part of another its still a defeat of a sort. even if sauron survives as part of galadriel and will never truely die, the corrupted galadriel is still the one directly doing the thing. sauron wants to conquer middle earth, but he also wants to be reunited with the ring to reclaim his body and power. with the ring stewing in galadriels gut forever, he cannot be truely reunited with it, but its i guess a matter of details and opinion.
