An interesting proposal. However, if she did it first, then she couldn't swallow her prey whole and alive. And the prey couldn't get swallowed whole and alive. The cyanide is a better idea, but Sophie doesn't want poison in her system making her sick (or worse).

Fair enough. Perhaps a numbing agent so that the acids don’t feel as abrasive. By the time it wears off, the nerve endings will be melted.
