“Agh! I don’t wanna have to take that exam!!”

“I’ll help you!”

*GULP*

“Good thinking! This happens, right? Getting swallowed by your pet? Kinda like a dog eating your homework? I’ll for sure be allowed to skip this one! My hero!”

“Heehee, thanks!”

“Better give it a week or so in here- that way anyone who questions it will get to see your big round belly and I can tell them directly from in here that you ate me! Like- ‘I’d loooove to go to class, but as you can see, I’m food now-! Bad luck, huh? But what’re ya gonna do!’ and they’ll legit believe you ate me after enough time and not question it and move on!”

(“Oh- you’re planning to come out...?” The squirrel thought to herself. “Agh! Of course she is! It was stupid for me to have thought that actually eating her was the solution!” The squirrel had misread things, but kept that information to herself and pretended they had been on the same page about this the whole time. She was loyal to her owner’s wishes, after all, so immediately gave up on that short-sighted silly idea of actually churning the girl away in her gut-!)

“But how do we keep this up? I’m not totally sure if I can control my, um, ‘processes’!” (She kept to herself that she didn’t exactly know how to regurgitate her human yet either, hoping to figure it out in time)

“It’s simple! Just make sure you keep eating your regular food! I’ll keep padding it down into your stomach to gurgle instead of me. That’ll totally work, right...? For a while, at least?
I guess we’re gonna find out, heheh!”

The girl and her pet relaxed for a few days, the squirrel occasionally paraded around others the girl knew, making sure they saw her big hanging belly, while her owner reassured them from within, playing up her situation- “Yep~! She actually ate me! I’m totally just food for her now- just waiting patiently to be digested~! That’s my lot in life now! Oh darn~! Just the very normal consequences any squirrel owner should understand can happen! They need to store fat for the winter, after all~!”

“It’s Spring”

“Well, um, uhhh... y’know...
...
Uhh, we gotta go! Stomach stuff to do-! Wouldn’t wanna give this innocent animal indigestion now-!”

The squirrel added- “Um, yeah- uh- I, uh, ate your daughter. She’s in my gut now. A-as food! Totally fully as food! My compliments to the chef! S-sorry for turning your girl into chow! Bye~!”

Days passed, and the girl being in the squirrel’s stomach became normal for everyone. The girl got really good at keeping up the act! Her family had open-mindedly accepted it- “If this is what our girl wants to be, then we support you!”
“Um... thanks...? You know it’s just that my pet ate me, right? Loving the attitude anyway!”
“Perhaps you should consider contributing yourself to an animal someday too, just like your big sister?”
“Mommm!!”
“You know I only got eaten, right? My squirrel was just hungry and ate something...? That happened to be me...?”
“And we’re so proud!”

Her friends got used to hanging out with the squirrel’s belly, and calling and messaging their friend from within there-
“i cant believe what you got urself into!!! ur such a nut babe <3”
“Haha, you always know what to say!”
“u got so much more popular since u wer eaten! meby i shud get eaten up tooo somday!!”
“NOOOOOOOOO don’t do it!!!”
(“I’ll tell her why later...” she chuckled to herself)
“ur food now babes. u dont get a vote! ;P”
“Meanie! ^_^; “

She even playfully updated her social media to keep up the ruse. It led by a phone selfie she took of herself in there (doing her best to put on a convincingly nervous smile)-

Social situations continued to be interesting-
“Let’s invite her!”
“No, we can’t! She has a big test to study fo~ oh wait, sorry, I forgot- she’s in the digestive system of her pet squirrel!”
“Well, either way she’s otherwise engaged. I’ll put her down as a hard maybe!”

One night, the girl in the gut started to relax a little more and fell asleep early. It was easy to do, being so warm and soft in there, and it happened to her often!

“Hmm, I think I’m overfeeding you. You ate my whole sis after all! No dinner for you tonight, I think. You naughty thing!”
Was heard, as the squirrel hazily fell asleep as well.

The next morning, the squirrel woke up to a new, fat, jiggly body.

“Oo-oops!!!”
She jiggled her new folds.
“G-guess you’re there now~!!”
The squirrel blushed with embarrassment, amazed at how her stomach had completely digested her owner into so much fat in just one night. Maybe the stomach had noticed how persistent its resident morsel had been for so long, and went into overdrive the first chance it had been given...? Maybe the girl had very slightly softened from the juices without realising it over her ‘pretend’ time as food...?
Either way, she now existed completely as fat on a now very chunky squirrel!
She let out a loud belch, and her friend’s phone flew out.
Still embarrassed about it all, she decided to at least update her meal’s status!
“Digested~! <3” she posted, changing the girl’s profile pic to an outside shot of her own now-jiggly belly. Comments started to come in-
“Oh kewl!”
“Congrats!!”
“haha u really did it u absolut nut!!!! <3 uhhh gess u cant hear me now haha now u betr not lose that weigt squirrel!! >:/ ;P “
Along with 3000 likes already!

The squirrel sighed with relief and rubbed her new fat tummy, letting out one more cute little burp.

“Not exactly what we planned, but still a success! We got away with it! And now you don’t have to take your exam~!”
The squirrel chuckled, happy with her new belly, and glad to have helped out her friend.

Second day of Voretober 2022! Prompt: Hero.

The notes I was writing for this one basically turned into the main thing! I considered *just* submitting it as a story- but I had an itch to create another image for it! So I told myself I'd just keep the image simple... and then ended up spending several hours on it. Ah well! I might try and dial it back a little next time! I love doing all of this, but it can take time!
