While writing the fourth Ana story I took a good look at just how much lore, overarching plots and character growth (no pun intended) I was trying to cram into it and it made me realise that I was writing a pretty terrible piece of erotica.

I ended up talking to a few friends about it and the general consensus was that despite my misgivings there was something worthwhile in there. The big problem, however, was that short pieces of hyper-niche erotica aren't really a great way to deliver any kind of big narrative to an audience…
So we're going to try making a webcomic.

Who's "we" you ask? Well it's worked on by a shadowy cabal we've named "The C.S.C.". Some move in the kinds of circles the original stories were published in while others are just awesome people we knew with a variety of creative backgrounds that were willing to jump aboard.

Right now anyone that has read my work before is probably wondering something along the lines of: "Webcomic, huh? Sounds cool, but how much will it appeal to my… niche interests?"

To which the blunt answer is: "Probably Less."
But do not despair, good reader!

If you like domination then you can expect more-or-less the same one-sided power dynamic in a romance between a demanding princess and her attendant.

If you like the size/weight stuff then Ana is going to remain proud to be a big, beautiful, demoness who towers twice as tall as most humans.

And if vore is what drew you to my stories then rest assured that nobody is getting put on a vegetarian diet.

All that being said though, there's going to be way less of a focus on the fetishy/NSFW elements. We aren't setting out to make a lewd comic because not only are we publishing it on a platform that doesn't allow explicit content, but we're trying to make something that can be enjoyed by anyone. Those elements will remain present in the DNA of the story, but it's more like we're telling a story involving them as themes rather than being written specifically just to feature them. In many ways it's just the next logical progression for my storytelling after years spent drifting gradually away from straight-up titillation.

(There has been a little bit of discussion about eventually doing what a lot of other romance webtoons do and using patreon to fund work on the comic by offering early access to bonus NSFW content.)

I realise that this "unlewding" might come as a slight disappointment to some… and for that I apologise. I would also like to sincerely thank anyone who does feel let down because not only did you take the time to read my stories, but you must have enjoyed them enough to want more of the same and I really, truly appreciate that.

But rather than spending any more time focusing on potential downsides or what the webtoon is NOT going to be, I want to focus on the positives and what it IS going to be!

At the moment we're planning to self-publish on Webtoon Canvas starting with a three episode pilot to see what the reception is like. If there's enough support for it we hope to build up to the point where there would be a new episode coming out monthly with each instalment being a pretty decent length (the scripts we're working from at the moment are several pages long per episode in text format).

We're using the existing stories as a starting point while expanding the cast of characters and fleshing out the setting in order to make the "fantasy" element a bigger part rather than just serving as a backdrop for a romance story. There will also be a bit of a mystery element to it as Ash learns more about demons and Ana but things don't quite seem to add up.

So where is this project at the moment? It's still in the early stages. It's been a year full of personal challenges and other disruptions but we're making progress… steadily. We've got a bunch of concept art, character designs, scripts and long-term plans already and we've started storyboarding the pilot episodes.

I'm announcing it now in the early stages because one thing that we would absolutely LOVE to get is any kind of feedback.

Are people excited after reading this announcement? Do they hate the idea? Do I even update here frequently enough for anyone to care in the slightest? Who knows, we certainly don't!
