She can, when she bites something both parts still feel like one. After being consumed by her you can feel each part of your food body at once even when they are chewed and far apart from eachother, you will only die after all or most of your mass has been digested but you won't even realize when that happens since your soul will remain inside her stomach unless she wants to release you or absorb you.
