Emilia is gone already, leaving Subaru no chance to save her. Ram died in the same manner. People dying in quick succession is pretty normal for this series.
What a terrible yet weird concept for the girls to have, You could survive a potential meteor shower but died and becoming a sludge in a weaker peasant guts.
