So, I'm having a concrete problem.

When you have large wings, a big tail, spikes everywhere... How are you supposed to strap a backpack and grimoire?!

I cannot go on adventures like this :(

I mean, you could always do what I did in grade school, and use it as a front pack, just put in on the front of your person instead of behind! problem solved! also thanks for sharing your silly idea with is! thanks!

But potential big boobs problem. My solution is to get a messenger bag with a custom waist strap. Sling it over your shoulder then strap on the waist strap so it doesn't dangle while flying. For the Grimoire, those should have holders at any goods and wares store that are similar to a messenger bag but made for grimoires. Just put the grimoire into the holder, sling it over your shoulder, et voila. Always available for reading.

Having a chest doesn't help indeed, so I'll probably settle for your solution. Grimoire on one side, travel stuff on the other.

Do expect some complaining if I have to walk long distances like this, though :v

You have wings. What are you WALKING anywhere for?

Caves and dungeons for one thing. These are not magical wings that let you hover around effortlessly. It's taxing for me to fly, especially with added weight, and I need large open areas to take off.

Eh, good point.

This would certainly be the most practical solution - if not the most fashionable.

At least the goods will be readily accessible this way :3

get a big old leather apron full of pockets cinched at the waist with a fannypack, a smaller satchel belted around the base of the tail, or get a bajillion bandoliers. or any combination of the three.

takes notes Not sure about the fanny pack: the thing with predator characters is they might get a full belly at some point :p

Definitely keeping the tail satchel, though!

If all else fails, that's what rune magic is for.

Storing things you need access to later, at the comfort of one's skin.

Might mean needing to have a lot more runic tattoos (to a point.) But if it means having a 'rune' dedicated to backpacks. Then all the better?

Unfortunately, this is a setting where magical energy is rare and difficult to use. Saissamenitas is not at a level where she can afford to solve such a mundane issue with spellcrafting ^^'

How strong is that tail, if it can hold a back pack one is fine.

Mechdragon1k

Likewise if the wing muscles are strong enough to fly, they may be strong enough that placing a lot of weight on them is not too bad.

Sauvegarde

The problem is you can't really fit a wing through a strap, so you need another way to attach a pack, but it's in your back, so it's complicated, etc.

LemonBarb

Way I'd see it, is have the 'straps' be disconnected, so they can be 'pulled through' and connected to with a belt click.

Sauvegarde

It would work, but it would still bother her wing arms and might rub against her dorsal spikes.

LemonBarb

Then by that lens, the alternative is to adjust the straps, so it's more like a 'belt bag' instead. And assume/let the 'tail' hold it up where need be.

That, or have the straps adjusted to be more around the human-arms, instead of the dragon-arms.

Either that, or depending on if flying or not, to get used to grabbing bags with one's dragon feet, during flight.

I like the idea of a bag held in the crook of her tail, yes, yes!

Either that or the famous adventuring duffel bag indeed xD
