Nalia is a volcanic naga, a naga capable of absorbing and outputting heat from within her body. Their obsidian glass like scales along her tail glisten from her bioluminescent skin benieth it which glows in proportion to how much heat they have absorbed. This glow in social structures displays power and warns other would be challengers to their territory. Volcanic naga are highly territorial in their molten homelands.

It's unknown if these Naga grow in proportion to the heat they've absorbed or if attaining certain levels of heat is required to reach certain stages of maturity, but volcanic naga of sufficient heat and glow are always of a larger size than ones with little to no glow within their tail. Volcanic naga can maintain body heat rather well typically, but colder climates and rain can cause a loss of heat requiring them to burrow to insulate themselves or take shelter till it passes.
Volcanic naga range in size greatly. They have been found as short as 2 feet long, when they have next to no heat collected, and grow to a usualy 120 feet tall (unknown length) all the way to an unprecedented 200 foot tall. 200 foot tall volcanic naga are incapable of sustainable, quickly losing heat to the atmosphere around them once leaving the deep tunnels of molten earth capable of insulating them. The lack of 200 foot tall Volcanic naga supports the theory of heat and size being intertwined.

As a creature living within volcanic mountains, their upper is adapted with tough digging scales to allow burrowing through volcanic tunnels, these scales briefly go down their tail as well to assist with burrowing. Some of these scales are up turned, such as ones on Nalia's shoulders and chest, to serve as a natural defense against would be predators. These defensive scales lay flat while tunneling to prevent catching. Other defense mechanisms of the volcanic naga include focusing stored heat into an intense breath heat capable of melting stone at the cost of stored heat and lashing their tail to launch super heated winds. Volcanic naga without stored heat must resort to using their digging scales as natural weapons instead.

Volcanic naga are capable of consuming prey of roughly equal size to them. Some that stray from the heat of their usualy molten territory will consume large prey strictly to steal their body heat during digestion. This process causes the area around the prey to glow as their heat spreads throught the tail. Others will form symbiotic relationships with warm blooded creatures allowing them to maintain heat with frequent contact.

I'm so proud of how this drawing came out, I feel I've come so far as an artist from where I started with drawing in the past two years alone. Thank you to everyone who's inspired me during this time! Also sorry the file size us so huge lol
