Linda heard the news in the middle of their anniversary dinner. Celebrating four years of love, support, and cherishing each other, her fiancé gifted her the knowledge that he'd cheated in the form of his affair partner storming the restaurant, furious at being rejected.

Linda should have yelled, too. Should have thrown his ring in his face. Should have called her mother or sister or best friend and wept in their arms until the morning came. Instead, wine bottle in hand, she ran and ran and ran in her stupid heels and skirt and blouse until she collapsed on the tree where he'd proposed.

At least she'd left him the bill. At least she'd made it to the reclusive spot unharmed. If she had to rough it out overnight, so be it. It was unlikely she'd be bothered so far out into the hiking trails.

All she had wanted was to find her forever person. What had she done to deserve this?

And there you have it! The vote was actually super close on a lot of Linda's character traits. The only clear winner for a long time was that she was feminine (gender) and female (sex).
