It was too late. The captain was too close to the devouring mouth of the stranger.
The lady's seemingly harmless appearance shifted very suddenly... into a monster.
It was all an illusion, even her boat disappeared. Terrifying horns and wings grew out of her as sudden as a bolt of lightning.
When that otherworldly mouth opened, the Captain felt like dreaming, yet he knew he was awake. He could even see his own body, lifeless and pale. The captain's mind seemed to have become liquid, torn between a thousand emotions and none.
The demoness smiled, as she knew the terror of wittnessing one's own body away from oneself adds a layer of delicacy to human souls.
