Hastingues is a town located in the southwestern French region known as Les Landes.
At first, the small town doesn't seem too interesting, if not for the cave system beneath it, a cave system very few people dare even approach, let alone enter.
That's because the cavern is inhabited by Lou Carcolh, a snail-like creature of gigantic proportions that is said to catch unwary people in its tentacles, drag them and swallow them whole.
The men of Hastingues even pleasantly warn young and attractive women by telling them "Carcolh will get you".

This warning should have stirred Nathalie Guichard's suspicions regarding the truth behind the Carcohl's legend.
As the 39-years-old muscular lass went for a jog, she ended up exploring the said cave, only to be pleasantly surprised the rumors turned out to be true.
