Jessica Verde was once a friend and colleague of Javeria. However, she always harbored a deep jealousy towards her and her work. When Javeria uncovered the Temple of the Cult of Gula, Jessica’s envy was fueled greater than ever.

This lead her to seek out an amazing discovery of her own. In the pursuit of this discovery, Jessica stumbled across the Shrine of the spirit of Envy, Invidia. The spirit of Invidia could sense the jealousy churning within Jessica and chose her to be her avatar. Mutating Jessica to reflect her purpose and granting her supernatural and magic abilities, the spirit remade Jessica in the image of her chosen animal, the snake.

Jessica now terrorizes the world as Viperess, spreading the influence Envy and swallowing her foes down whole to pacify her insatiable hunger
