harrassing cooking oscar as i've never watched it. I tried some of the mangas but augh, male shoenen protagonists are the worst and nezukos largely absent from all four mangas i picked up (first two and last two).

You not miss much if you skip this manga. Demon Slayer is overhyped. It has a broken power system, the fights are always deus ec machima because we never really know what our protagonists are able to do. Most characters have no personality and the author only give them some shortly before they die.
Well and Netzuko is a Merry Sue who can basicly ignore all weaknesses of being a demon in the later stages of the manga while having all the positive abilitys.
My own favorit manga are "Kingdoms" because its very tense and every battle is a back and forth between the generals.
Or my secret tip is "world trigger". A shounen way to many people underestimated because the art style. Yet it has one of the most balanced power sytem with most of the character are limited to use similar skills. Meaning they have to creatively combine this skills to win.
Most of the fights a Free for all team battles that involve quick team up and kill steals. Its very exciting if you get over the first ges ibrroducrion chapters.

I'll admit my only interest in demonslayer was nezuko seemed cute and could go into sexy demon mode :P. Reading the end manga though its like ugh ending, and the fight was so boring. Felt like a raid boss in wow instead of anime ending boss XD. So did my usual, read the wiki.

Yeh Nezuko's design truly is cute. She has that going for he. It's just a pity how she becomes this unbeatable ultra Demon. (As this pretty much kills the reason why anybody would want to turn her back in the first place.)
Kingdom sadly has not many waifus I could mention to you. They are barely any important female character. And the strong girls are rather imposing big and strong woman. (kyoukai is slightly cute being the sword dancer type)
World Trigger on the other hand is very chibi. I like the main love interest Chika because she is very small and cute. But I see no waifu that could interest you.
If we just look at Personality you might like the battle axt using girl from the Top Team. She is very tomboy.

World Tigger is boring. Mostly because they're limited to similar skills. Plus, its reality makes little sense. Also, I don't like the chibi art style.
As for Demon Slayer, the power system there is... odd. Demons have a few (and arbitrary) weaknesses. Slayers use a weird breathing system that makes no sense. And they use some type of weird magic with a "curse" (or whatever it is) that has weird implications.

You really not saw how they us this limitations i world trigger to create plot twist and exciting moves.
"Chika only shots stun blast as she hates shoting." Enemy used a piece of a roof without any saying to block it.
Enemy gets oblibirated because Chika not shots a stun bullet. (And her attacks are small nukes as we know)
A black trigger user (the not limited fighters) gets beaten because someone basivly uses himself as bait to allow axt girl to cut both in half. (A tactic only possible because they not alwads risk their life if they lose a fight)
Someone using a defense skill as trap to encase himself and him behind hit forcing him into close combat.
Someone using some delayed energie blast (you are actual able to spot if you pay attention) to beat someone after he was beaten himself.
People are midfight while sudenly someone uses the change to take someome out with a surprise attack.
Worldtrigger fights are ectremly tactical because this limitations exist!

No, I don't. Mostly because I couldn't bring myself to care about the bland characters and confusing premise. Even if the limits make the battles extremely tactical, I can't bring myself into following the series due to the aforementioned reasons. And from what you wrote, it sounds less tactical and more opportunist.

This is a real pity. This is what I mean if I call it a secret tip. It has a bad and slow start without much hype happening as they also mostly fight monsters at the start.
It's kind of an "ugly duck"
The anime also shows it's low budget quickly. (they really need to remake it!)
Yet if you get trough this phase you learn to love the character. As we actually have a main Character (Osamu Mikumo) that not just is called "underdog" but really is an underdog that has no special ability and has to work hard and make slow progress to become strong.
Chika our pacifist with the Energie level of a world-ending treat starts to grow to you too eventually. As she becomes more confident and actually slowly becomes the scary monster she can be if she uses her broken power.
Yuma Kuga looks like a op character at first. But the other teams quickly start to show him his place and his weakness if he can't rely on his black trigger and has to actually use his intention to win.
The final team member i not want to spoiler. But he is kind of the anti hero, that shows he is clever enough to rely on other if it counts.
Finally many of the more special characters show they have their own "skillsets" despite the limitations.
Kirie Konami as already mention has adapted the standard sword into a battle axt that conzentrates on brute strength rather than quick slashes.
Masataka Ninomiya uses a all in risk styly combining multiple attack spells without any defense to overpower enemies before they can hit him
Takuma Yuba has adjusted his weapons into revolver that concentrate on concentrated and quick pricing bullets.

I'm not into "ugly duckling" type series. The initial phase, even in the manga, bored me too much. They may grow as the series proceeds, but that's a "too little too late".
Also, something you seem to be ignoring, the premise is confusing. The entire war is about preserving the central McGuffins (the titular World Triggers) by using human life. I might be misremembering, and don't have the interest to look it up to correct myself.

Actual the main premise is that multiple worlds are interconnected and other powers are attacking the "humans" for some reason. Claiming them to be the aggressors. This is the main mysteries with the "Black Triggers" and the secret how they came into existence being apparently one of the reasons.
The manga pretty much turns into a journey through dimension after a very long Team battle Tournament arc and an Invasion arc that came before where a very strong world kidnapped promising human kids to turn them into weapons but failed to catch Chika the "Most precious treasure for their army building plans"
In the invasion arc we actual had people that died as they were not able to rely on their clon bodies they usually use.

Thanks for explaining the premise. I appreciate you doing so without using any insults. But still, I can't get into this series. The slow start and dull characters just take me out of it, y'know? There are other series that start off bland, then get better latter on. I can't get into those as well.

Yet the main Character is not the choicen one. Chika actually is. She pretty much has enough trion (the Chakra of this universe) to control any kind of black trigger.

I'm not interested in "chosen one" stories. Especially if the main character isn't the chosen one.
