It's tough work being an ant. You always have to be on alert, to protect the colony! Plus, you're a tasty treat to birds and bugs alike. Thankfully, this colony has a particularly strong and tall ant amongst them, s they should be safe and sound!

... Right...?

Today's pred is an ant mimic spider! I love the idea of a pred infiltrating a group of prey, with the prey being none the wiser, not putting the pieces together as their numbers dwindle while their suspiciously tall friend starts putting on the pounds~

YES I LEARNED ABOUT THOS A LIL WHILE AGO..... it's so wild that there are so many different species of bugs that have evolved to infiltrate ant colonies. Spiders, beetles, crickets, even caterpillars...
