So, this story is kind of a mix between ‘Sword Art Online’, some other animes and a few video games. The plot of having an NPC becoming the main character of a story was stuck in my mind for weeks now and I therefore really wanted to finally write it. Sadly, the story didn’t turn out the way I imagined it and isn’t really my best work… but as I didn’t want to just throw a +12k story away and leave you with no upload this week... so, I have the hope some of you still may find a liking to it ^^’

I always love Horse Pred stuff, Permanent Entrapment is also glorious! Combined the two together, and I'm in heaven..

I am curious as what separates humans with levels from humans without levels.

Already thought that that point wasn’t very well explained by me in the story…
Well, in this story all living things have levels, as this whole world is inside a video game. The only difference is between the players (heroes), who know about that and of course try to level to get better, and the NPCs (like Lee), who don’t know about it, as the game is programmed like that. They don’t really have a consciousness and just live after the games commands.
However, Lee suddenly gained that consciousness and then defeats the boar, an action usual done by players. As the game is then confused, as a NPC has done a player action, it turns Lee into a player (that’s the reason for his short pain after killing the boar). After that he has full access to his inventory and such.
Creatures on the other hand all have their own AI that controls them. That’s the reason the boar learns to dodge Lee’s attack and for the dragon and Zenia to be able to understand the human language and use it as well, as they are very high level and therefore are already around long enough for their AI to figure out the human language.
I hope this makes the story a bit more understandable ^^‘

RPG mechanics popping up to someone who has NO IDEA what they are is such a treat to read.

Actually one of the reasons I wrote that story, as I found the thought funny of someone living in the middle age suddenly being confronted with things like XP, HP, and combat in a video game XD
