In the modern Imperium of Mojie, steppes form a border and a bridge alike. The maps may show a clean demarcation between the central region of Koryuu and the northern and southern Shitennoates, but the truth is murkier than that. The legacy of Subutai, that great mind who conquered two worlds, resides here, autonomous from the Shitenno and even the direct rule of the Imperatrum themself. The soldiers he trained personally were given free rein on the northern and southern steppes alike, planting the seeds for the thriving and wholly unique culture that is present to this day.

The flat lands of the steppes make for easy travel, passageways for goods and information alike, and so many thriving towns form in these routes. However, rich as they are, the towns are not the power of the steppes. They are not led by a governor, or a magistrate, or a mayor in the typical sense; but instead, the towns are subject to the nomadic clans that roam these plains. Yesugen Jantsangiin is the khatun of one such clan.

Her clan's holdings are small, but not from a lack of skill on Yesugen's part. It is but a fragment of what was once a large clan; but the ambitions of the previous khan's lieutenants and the lack of clear heir ensured it would fracture. Tension persists over her region of the steppe, for the various lieutenants, including Yesugen herself, still claim the other fragments of the clan.

Yesugen is a master with the bow and arrow, as though it were a sniper rifle in her hands. In the field of archery, none can compete with her accuracy. She could easily shoot down the other lieutenants and claim her station - except for the fact that the autonomy of the steppes relies on them being peaceful, with wanton violence on the part of the khans forbidden under threat of being removed.

So instead, she must settle for the games, whittling away at the domains of her rivals while defending her own.

It's her! The character from my most favorited story to this date, No Cock Like Horse Cock! I didn't expect that story to take off so hard, honestly...But I figured it was about time to get her designed properly, right?

I tried to keep her pretty faithful to the original story, though I also made sure to give her a cute face. She can look stern all done-up, but she's a softy deep down, except for a certain part of her. The lore is tentative and will likely be more refined in the future.
