Believe it or not, but this story began as an alternate version of the LWA fanfic, "Jasminka's Happy Meals." Delt and I discussed that story at length, workshopping ideas for it left-and-right. There was much argument about how to present Jasminka as a predator, since she's not a particularly cruel or ambitious character. It made it tricky depicting Jasminka as a persistent antagonist, someone who'd organically devour every last student in Luna Nova.

Such debates got us talking into who would make an adequate predator, and after Delt drew the original "Monster Ass" artwork as a side project, that redirected our course. Barbara became the focus, and from there, "Cleaning up Luna Nova" was written.

So, in a roundabout way, y'all can view "Cleaning up Luna Nova" as a revised version of "Jasminka's Happy Meals." Not strictly better, just one that we felt served the intended direction better. Perhaps we'll finish that fic someday, but after this story? Eeeeeeh, don't hold your breath XD Neither Delt or I relish returning to old projects unless we can put a fresh spin on it.
