Though the kingdom of Satorippon has enjoyed a long period of peace and security, they have remained acutely aware of their status as a small island surrounded by large, often angry neighbors. As a result, every able-bodied Satojin citizen is required to take classes in a martial art; though, the laws are not so restrictive as to compel any specific form. Perhaps the fastest-growing choice, however, is not one deeply rooted in Satojin tradition, nor that of its neighbors, but an importation from across the Pacific: Capoeira.

The Satojin took well to the art. Its "learn by doing" philosophy, and emphasis on expression and outwitting one's opponent rather than hard-baked forms and counters, appealed to the artistic and scholarly alike; and the roda made for a particularly effective community-building experience. Meanwhile, the acrobatics involved in the dance meant the Satojin could take advantage of their naturally smaller size. Capoeira may not have been made for them, but they took to it like fish in water.

Here, we see the Crown Prince putting in his all, showing off his power and flexibility. He's been working for a while, but his face shows he isn't going to be slowing down anytime soon.

This was a commission I got from 墨柴 a.k.a. Sumi0siba on Skeb! I'd been meaning to get an action piece with Kaishi for a while, particularly with him performing capoeira.~ It's such a cool martial art. (But then, with green hair, yellow clothes, and blue trim, isn't Kaishi already wearing the Brazilian colors?) I like how you can see that Kaishi's pretty toned. He's always on the move, so it'd make sense, right? Right. I don't feel like I'm doing this description justice, but in fairness, I'm tryin' to get this out before a friend goes to sleep.
