Franklin Boyle - Character Sketch

A new character I've been thinking about for a while now. He is absolutely based on the character Frank Boothe from Blue Velvet. I love the idea of a pred using aerosol chemicals to enhance his feeding. I've also been wanting to do an "authority figure" style pred, so I thought a police detective would make an interesting counterpoint to the seediness of Franklin's character.

Franklin holds himself like a thug, and his dress doesn't help matters. The leather jacket, sloppy tie, and faded jeans all give him the appearance of a man prepared to hurt for the sake of hurting. He's not bad looking by any means; his brown hair and full, shaven face would actually make him handsome if he dressed well.

But as a police detective, Franklin has learned that dress is nothing. Only your own will matters; what you're willing to do. Franklin is willing to do what it takes, whether to catch a pervert or be one. He makes no secret about his tastes in women. Specifically his taste FOR women. Sure he doesn't tell every girl he meets about it. Only the ones dangling over his throat.

Franklin's hunger is a constant, biting thing, keeping him always on the lookout for a possible meal. But sometimes, once he's found one, he prefers to enjoy his meat rather than just scarf it. That's where the canisters come in.

Franklin wears two aerosol canisters on his hips like pistols, each with a small breathing mask attached by a hose. One he's crudely labeled with tape “Joy.” The other: “Delight.” When the airy sound of the pressurized contents goes wheezing up one of those masks, it means that Franklin is about to enjoy himself.

The contents of the “Joy” canister are a potent aphrodisiac. Whether man or woman, a few seconds breathing it in are enough to send the person into a haze of sensitivity and fire. Nerves become open receptors to pleasure. The skin drinks in heat like sunlight. Pressure and human contact become as addictive as drugs. The person doesn't lose control of themselves; rather, the senses of their body are heightened and their capacity for pleasure increased. Dangerously.

The “Delight” canister is a far different beast. When Franklin breaths it in, it creates in him a devastating hunger along with a powerful sense of taste and smell that makes his food more delightful. However, more than that, it changes Franklin's body. His jaw can elongate. His flesh becomes pliant and flexible. He can swallow a man, or rather a woman, whole and enjoy her to the sweet end.

If Franklin forces "Delight" on a woman, though, the effect is strikingly different. A lightness in the head. A tightening of the skin. The woman shakes her head to find herself only a few inches tall. And, likely, staring into Franklin's wide, saliva-drenched mouth.

Franklin's position as a detective is one he will quickly and fiercely abuse if it serves to get him a meal. Nor is he above pretending to be what he isn't to get a girl closer to his tongue. However he comes to her, when a lady hears his canisters whisper to life, the next sound she is likely to hear is Franklin's gut grumbling for her meat.
