Being as I have long supported Gamergate Posted 8 years ago
because there was a genuine need to fight nepotism in gaming journalism and the "sexism in games" nonsense perpetrated by Anita Sarkeesian.

But harassment was never something that I supported, and I even was on the Gamergate forum in Reddit calling for an official rejection of pro-gamergate Reaxxion, the new gamer "site" produced by Roosh V of Return of Kings.

Fast forward to today, one day until Mass Effect Andromeda Day.

Last week, Ralph Retort, a pro-Gamergate web entity, has made some false allegations about a woman who works at Electronic Arts, saying she was responsible for the bad animations in this new game. This erroneous FAKE NEWS reporting has led to a...

"For Love of the Homeworld" is out! Posted 8 years ago
https://aryion.com/g4/view/385901

This story introduces readers to the horror of war with Silurheans who dominate many distant, habitable worlds. Particularly, it is the story of one character, Andy Nguyen's up-close-and-personal experience with Earth Federation's conscription program, and the jaw-droppingly unrestrained brutality that is unleashed upon those men who flee the draft in hopes of not being treated like expendable cogs in the government's war machine.

Be advised, the level of human cruelty in this story is probably worse than you would ever expect to see. It is how I envision the world eventually degenerating to. Other than that, please look it over and tell me what...

Life under an Orange Dwarf star? Posted 8 years ago
I'm in the middle of a major Imperishable Legacy undertaking and this story takes place on a world orbiting an orange dwarf, either 40 Eridani or Epsilon Eridani.

#1 - Choices, choices. Epsilon Eridani is nice because it doesn't have two other stars orbiting it, with the potential for chaos that this brings. But it's too young, which means it's not yet stable with its magnetic activity. 40 Eridani is 4 billion years old with an astounding ~16 billion years of stable life left in it, but it has a white dwarf (that would have sterilized any worlds near it) and an annoying flaring red dwarf companion, though thankfully they're both far off from Eridani A. But are they far enough away?

#2 - What does the sky look like on an Earth+moon-like world orbiting...

Fairies: How a compliment can be a nasty insult Posted 8 years ago

INTERSPECIES CULTURAL ADVISORY
Ministry of Interspecies Relations
Office of Interplanetary Relations
Northern European Commonwealth General Public Notice #2411.10.05_01

Homo Sapiens Sidhe is, by human terms, a dazzlingly beautiful race in the aesthetic sense. Those who have encountered them speak volumes about their physical beauty. It is a common saying that the ugliest fairy competes with the most gorgeous women on Earth, and the sentiment is widely held among those who meet them.

That said, one phrase used to praise fairy women for their beauty is one of the most hurtful and insulting phrases a fairy can hear. That phrase is "Glowingly beautiful."

First, a short lesson on the strange wonder that...

KEGO-ZATU, The Day of the Ugly

As I stated in an earlier blog, fairies do not evolve. It is no mystery to the fae about why this is the case, their ancestors had a manifold goal of eliminating birth defects, and limiting the male populace which was a highly desirable side effect. Bollar scientists, in addressing their own potential future problems, also sleuthed out the other goal - to prevent fairy-kind from diverging genetically due to being fragmented across the galaxy.

Enter, Kego-Zatu, the Pigs Day, or the Day of the Ugly. This is widely considered to be the fairy "Halloween", and on this day fairies...

Okay, I admit, my new choice of blog theme sucked. Posted 9 years ago
It was an actual nightmare to read and make sense of. So I'm reverting back to the default.
Aw, shit, Patreon got majorly hacked. Posted 9 years ago
http://arstechnica.com/security/2015/10 ... ed-online/

Insert stream of obscenities from one who wasn't a victim of this... this hack in particular could open up all kinds of sites. Of particular concern is the password cracking feat they carried out by attacking the bcrypt hash method itself. Ouch.

And Patreon was given FIVE days warning about this

Imperishable Legacy: Mandatory exogamy laws Posted 9 years ago
Bollars have known for a long time that fairies have roamed the galaxy as a starfaring species for millions of years: how many millions is a mystery, as their homeworld has yet to be found. (Many worlds, known as Mul-Nona worlds, have been suspected to be their homeworld, but all Mul-Nonae to date have been found to not be their origin.) This has puzzled the Bollars, because many of these fairy populations have been known to be isolated for millions of years, yet when they meet again, they can interbreed effortlessly. It is a known fact that homo sapiens can become genetically incompatible for interbreeding after 500,000 years: this is why, on Earth, Cro-Magnon humans had problems mating with Neanderthals due to being separated for 500,000 years. The mystery was solved, of course, when it...

Imperishable Legacy fun fact: fairies transmit themselves Posted 9 years ago
In my story Worthless Dollars, a fairy named Saelihn Nualis transmitted herself through the Internet to her long time friend Samuel Imonje.

This is a basic ability for fairies - if you have an electrical connection or a communication media connection from Point A to Point B, and it's active, a fairy can transmit themselves through that medium to you. In Earth terms, a stable TCP/IP connection, with error correction, is a great means for a fairy to transmit from Point A to Point B. Analog transmissions are sometimes dicey due to signal loss. Third world electrical grids can sometimes be a problem. Some more powerful fairies can get through that, and can also jump through radio transmissions. Very powerful fairies can use...

Shemitah and Conspiracy Theories - A WTF Moment Posted 9 years ago
Long story short, some conspiracy theorists (like Jeff Berwick) say that Shemitah is a 7 year cycle in which the shit hits the fan. It's called a "Washing Away of Things" period in which major worldwide events happen.
See his video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=1138&v=rkELgi6EkNo

Allegedly:
1917 was a Shemitah year, the US entered World War I
1930-1931, the Great Depression hit
September 2 of 1945 - the end of World War II when Japan surrendered formally
1973 - the Bretton Woods financial system collapse
(A bunch of other major financial things seemed to happen every 7 years)
September of 2001 - A...
