That kind of distorted screaming was too much for younger me to handle. Did you play spider man for the psone? The final boss is chase from monster ock (doctor octopus wearing carnage's symbiote) and he does that kind of distorted screeching as well. I didn't see the ending of that game as a kid because of him, I couldn't bear to play the level.

That thing's screeching terrified me as a kid. I once tried to brave it but ended up running and turning off the console haha
